Hanako Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 Welcome to the Forums! Hope you enjoy your stay. French, are you? I wish I could speak it, such a beautiful language ;-; I was supposed to have learnt it until I was told it was even more that a pain grammatically that my own (Portuguese). So now I only listen to french songs. Well, have an image! Thanks I think when you hear a foreign language you find it awfull or beautiful compare to your matern language And I confirm french is a pain in a neck x) sure it's a beatiful image but one question, just one ................................... why? xp Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 If you want to know why, check out all the welcomes I have given in the introduction section. (Basically, other threads in this section, my posts) But I will give you a hint. It's because so many people are giving out images these days. Quote

Hanako Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 1 to 20 ^^ I don't want to grab but I think the same x) Because schools don't care much about whether people can understand you or not. They prefer to know if you follow the "in-the-book" rules and if you write things in a grammatically correct fashion. Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Yeah, it is utterly useless. By doing things like the books, now most of the time I write sentences in the most complicated manner I can think of. It's pretty much a subconscious thing, now. And I talk perfect Queen's English like the teachers want us to. I'm like a machine. (A machine that's terrible at French and Spanish) Quote
Hanako Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 If you're a machine I've one question : how is you pronunciation? xp Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 As I said. Queen's English. And I'm from Portugal. I learn't English by myself actually, watching youtube videos of people playing games and commentating. Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 That's interesting. Is there anything else you did? I'm a native speaker so I don't really know the differences in learning, though I've heard it's quite difficult. If only learning Japanese was as simple as watching anime, YouTube videos, etc....
