Grisaia no Kajitsu text issue

Hello!

 

There's an issue in my Grisaia no Kajitsu game where no text is shown in the text box. There's sound, the menu options are visible and that little box-shaped symbol at the bottom right corner of the text box is also shown. But there's no text. This issue is present both with and without the English patch. Any tips on how to solve this problem will be much appreciated.

 

P.S. I've already scoured the forum for people with similar problems. I only found one topic where the given solution to install Njstar communicator did not help me at all.
