MysteriousFayth Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I started reading Kanon today, I haven't finished a route yet but something I already feel is that the passage of time is quite poorly portrayed. I'm not really sure why, there doesn't seem to be a significant difference from how other VNs would show time passing (blank screens, empty text). Some of the conversations don't feel very natural either and seem to be over as quickly as they start. I haven't had this impression in any of the other VNs I have read so is it just me? Or possibly the writing or translation? I will keep at it though, I don't like leaving things unfinished but this feeling was just nagging away at me. So I thought I would see what others think. shcboomer Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I'd assume it has a bit more to do with age of the VN on top of other factors. Quote
Flutterz Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Probably because it's pretty old, Key wasn't as good at stuffing everything with filler which is one of the main reasons why you feel the passage of time. Quote
zoom909 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I didn't have this problem with Kanon. I would like to suggest the possibility that Kanon is normal and that stuff like Clannad and Little Busters has gotten you used to a lethargic pace Quote
MysteriousFayth Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 Ah that is probably it, Rewrite and LB were my first Key titles and I found them really enjoyable. I am liking Kanon as well, like you folks said though, I'm just used to filler. XD Thanks anyway Quote
