Savo Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I'm having an issue with Never 7, and having tried everything I could think of, I was hoping someone else here could help. Are you running your computer with Japan system locale? (link to instructions): I've tried it both ways, and it has no impact on how well the game runs. Game Name: Never 7. Description of Problem: Never 7 will horribly lag in fullscreen mode. It's essentially unplayable. However, if I boot it up in windowed mode, it plays perfectly fine. You can't force it into full-screen using alt-enter or anything like that, so I'm at a loss for how to fix it. My computer is a mid to high end gaming rig, so power isn't the issue here. Your Operating System: Windows 8. 64 or 32 bit (link to how to find): 64 bit. What did you already try? (Uninstall/Reinstall, Redownload, Run as admin, etc): I've run it as admin, tried numerous compatability settings, and played around with the game's start-up options. Did you download your game from Fuwanovel?: No. Has anyone else run into this problem or have an idea on how to fix it? Quote
メルP Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Yes, it is a problem with the VN and if you only have a lag but not a complete or partial black screen - consider yourself lucky. The only thing you can do is to set compatibility mode to win xp sp2 and then try different video settings to see if anything works better (if at all) I don't really remember what options worked best for me, but after some trial and error it works on win7 x64 pretty nice. Not sure about win8 Quote
SanadaShadow Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 What's wrong with windowed mode, anyways? I, personally, prefer it windowed. Sorry for being unable to help though Quote

Not sure about win8 Hmm, I've been trying the compatability modes, including XP SP2, but no luck so far. Changing the video settings has a tendency to break it further and give me a black screen or a messed up screen. I may just end up playing it windowed if there's no easy fix for it. Sorry for being unable to help though I've been playing it in windowed mode because I couldn't fix the fullscreen mode, it's still very playable, but I'd feel more immersed in the game if I could get it into fullscreen. Sorry for bothering you. Please enjoy this GIF of Mario Jackson instead. Quote

I can't read VNs in windowed mode myself. (unless its a rare case when i can freely resize the window). The worst part about this... Never7 can't even be launched under virtual machine. At least with VirtualBox even with installed Direct3D it doesn't allows to select something other than RGB emulation mode, which simply crashes. So... I dunno. Try to update some video drivers, update directx9 also. Maybe that'll help. Other than that, there isn't anything you can do. Quote
