Light novel recommendations

Hey I recently got into Light novels and I don't know much about them.  I just recently got back from anime expo and was checking out the light novels. I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations, I prefer 18+ and loli characters. Thanks in advance

To aru Majutsu no Index and Sword Art Online are very good. They both just got licensed in english, SAO volume 1 is out and Index volume 1 and SAO volume 2 are coming out sometime later this year. Baka-tsuki is probably the best website to read LN's on. http://baka-tsuki.org/

I highly recommend you to read Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria (or HakoMari for short!). HakoMari is the best work of fiction I've ever seen, not just the best light novel. You should definitely give it a shot, if you don't mind it being very dark. It's one of the very few things that I would call a masterpiece. The way the author writes really draws you into the deep and complex story. He loves to lead you in with clues and then surprises you at every turn.The characters are all fleshed out and very unique. You're gonna be in for a treat.

EDIT: However, if you're just looking for ecchi and fan service, this is DEFINITELY not for you. Read this if you want interesting plot and characters.

I second HakoMari. 

 

One of the not mentioned is Fate/Zero, that one is amazing. There's also Heavy Object, but I'm not that far into the story, so I don't know if I should recommend it.

If you want loli, try the no game no life LN. They recently got an anime. Watch the first episode to get a taste. Not 18+ but just about the best I got.

I also enjoy Campione. Very borderline on the 18+. They have a loli character. Athena. However, that said, she does not come out often.

I second the Campione rec. Though DxD was interesting at first I feel that it has gotten... Stale later on in the series as nothing major ever happens.

Infinite Stratos was ok. Oda Nobuna is pretty good and lastly I highly recommend Mahouka and No game no Life.

Oh I forgot about this but I also recommend Gekkou. It's only one novel but I really enjoyed reading it.

I had no idea some of these were Light Novels.

 

I've been keeping an eye on Hataraku Maō-sama since I saw the anime. The anime ended adruptly, and was one of the best comedies in recent anime. 

 

I also really enjoyed Oda Nobuna  and found that they have an extensive wiki translation of the LNovel. Haven't started yet but I"ll probably try the first chapter tonight.

I Recommend Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica. Although it doesn't have much loli characters i think, but the protagonist is probably the best protagonist  you will ever find in any manga/anime/visual novel/light novel. He is probably the definition of Perfect protagonist (Postively) imo.

Ah, i was forgeting something. That's right, Shiba Tatsuya is also perfect, although his personality is kinda like eeeh incest and the quiet & cool type.

 

never heard of Spice & Wolf and Haganai... I don't like just strong characters, it also depends on their personality and characteristic, there are quite a lot of strong characters but they either lack common sense, overreact too much, etc.

If i'm not mistaken. It's from that anime/manga where he has a strong physical ability with genius thinking and obtains an Unknown card, if so. Yeah, he pass, although he doesn't have any romance interest. I find that kind of a pity, since i kinda like romance.
