DimDito Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Transgender characters are interesting, both ways. Their tendecy to be complex and full of nuance is strong, but it's a psychology that must be explored and studied - and we don't see them given enough time to develop and have their psychology transformed into dillema, drama and ultimately a nice story. And even though I'm not one to make social commentary, I find the terms used here quite disrespectful. True, transgender characters can be very sophisticated and it'd be nice to delve into their psychology especially in a visual novel or anime. They're usually there for the sex appeal, I don't really mind that but I'd like to see a properly developed trap as a strong supporting character (or even the main one). In contrast to their image as fanservice, any other plot that deeply explores this premise could really be dark and heavy. Quote

This was beyond simply a change of clothes and hairstyle. Sadly like you mentioned, her time was short. Quote

Nosebleed Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I have yet to read a VN with transgender characters. I was mainly speaking of anime. Well, there's Steins;Gate's Rukako, though he's a borderline case and his concerns are different. His development was nice, though. You might want to check this out Quote
DimDito Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 You might want to check this out That actually looks pretty deep. Thanks Nosebleed. Quote
Nagisa_Fawkes Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Why? Why?................ I don't mind if the trap is straight, in that case there would be an illusion of yuri there. But no yaoi for me, thank you very much. And reverse traps are okay. Quote
FruitsPunchSamurai Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I wouldn't mind having an anime trap as a friend. Answer to the question: yes. Gasper from DxD. Quote
Mr. Meogii Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 -_- ... the only trap I like is Tsugumi from nisekoi. crunchytaco 1 Quote

Flutterz Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 reverse traps aren't so bad the first one looks really cute The first one barely looks like a guy. Looks more like a trap than a reverse trap. Quote
Monmon Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 More like Tsugumi traps: We need more traps pics Quote
hsmsful Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 A trap is not a trap if it isn't cute. In other words, they are traps because they are cute males (too cute to almost look like females) usually in female clothes. And I don't get why people say they wish that traps weren't traps and were actually just females. Quote
Naraku93 Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Well I actually enjoy traps, too bad there are few translated VNs with a trap mc Quote
