Help! Recommendation for a first VN to a female friend

Well, from my personal experience (I'm a guy btw), anyone I've recommended any VN to, their biggest "issue" is that they are long.

 

I'd suggest you and she try True Remembrance. Small, not long, freely available, all-ages, and a great and touching story. Though I haven't read Planetarian, it seems something like this.

My first VN is Hoshizora no Memoria and I found out it is really great.
I fall in love to VN after playing that VN.

I'm female and I can certainly try to find something for your friend, though obviously our tastes might be quite different.

The most important thing to start out with though is: Does she like anime/manga already?

I agree with this guy. I have had similar experiences where people believe the ones I recommend them take way too long to read.

Great story and she can get used to the feeling of reading a visual novel along the way.

Don't know her preferences though
