Johansky Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 So, I've picked up my first VN ever and I picked G-Senjou no Maou cause it seemed right up my alley. Now, I've read about that there are different paths to take along the game that gives you different stories and endings, and so I have a question regarding how to play this. Can I take on a route and then, when I've done it, continue on with the main route/story, or will I have to play through the game again, but do a different choice, or maybe set up a save at that particular point? I kinda want to do all the routes, but I don't think I'll be able to play the full thing several times Thanks for any replies in advance -Johansky Quote
Nosebleed Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 The routes in G-Senjou no Maou branch off at different points during the common route. There is only one choice that leads either to the girl's route or it leads you to continue the common route. So yes you can save at the branching choice and do one of the girl's routes and then load from that choice and continue the common route until you hit another branching choice, until you eventually get to the true route. The branching points in order of appearance are: Tsubaki > Kanon > Mizuha > Haru To go to Tsubaki's route, in chapter 2 pick "Invest in Tsubaki." To continue with the common route pick "Ditch her while I can" instead To go to Kanon's route, in chapter 3 pick " I should listen to her." To conitnue with the common route pick "I'll avoid the subject" instead To go to Mizuha's route, in chapter 4 pick "I should leave this to the police." To continue to the last and true route as well as the end of the common route, pick "Wait for Tokita" instead Quote

Silvz Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Nope, the girls routes take about 4 hours to complete, if you're a slow reader. And the girls routes are one per chapter. Tsubaki is the first, and starts at chapter 2. So, if you start chapter 3, but didn't start her route, you did something wrong =P Oh, and you'll know when you enter someones route because the game will show you "Tsubaki's Chapter" in the beggining of it =3 Quote

Sorry with all the questions, as I said, I'm new to this whole VN thing Quote
Clephas Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 ... I remember the girls' routes only taking me about forty-five minutes, other than Haru's. Quote
Berilium Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Yeah I think they are 1 hour long. Haru's route it's chapter 5 itself. Quote
Silvz Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Seriously? I took some days reading them, and on youtube, a guy posted about 20 videos, 10 minutes each for each route. But well, I'm kindda slow @_@ Yes, the game will tell you when you're entering the girls routes Quote
Kimanor Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I did only one route apart from Haru's... and I didn't really enjoy. It took a turn too great from the plot itself. True route was awesome though. Quote
suikashoujo Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I've seen a lot of people who've disliked them, but I actually really enjoyed the side routes in G-Senjou. Granted, the true route (as well as the featured heroine) was the best in the game, but there were some great moments in the rest of the routes. Tsubaki's route in particular had some real shining moments. So I was a bit surprised when I saw how many people complained about them. They aren't too long either, so it seems like a waste to skip them. Quote

Kimanor Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Eh, I just felt like it deviated from the story... a lot. Maou suddenly leaves town? Why does he do that? Why do we know this? Why stop his grand plan to make children his children Quote

Why stop his grand plan to make children his children It's been some years since I read it, but I believe in all of the side routes that Kyousuke is Maou (or at least it is heavily implied). I can see how that can be irksome in terms of continuity and the overall story though. Quote
Freestyle80 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 nah Kyouske isnt Maou its just implied just to mislead us on the side routes most people tend to believe Maou just leaves them alone since Kyouske is happy now and Haru is out of his life,he only hates Haru and her family not Kyouske Quote

Sorry with all the questions, as I said, I'm new to this whole VN thing You will get many decisions some of them will decide which route you go into. The game won't outright tell you which decisions will change the route, there are many walkthroughs for that. Quote
