Anyone have any news on when they're going to translate Chapter 54's raw that's been out for half a week now?

I haven't caught up with the anime (I stopped around episode 5)

Can someone tell me if there were any major changes in comparison to the manga's plot?

 

And if so did it turn out for better or for worse?

 

Just wanted to know if i should catch up on the anime or not be bothered until it's over.

All changes happened at episode 20. The biggest change is that the latest episode moved forward ahead of the latest manga chapter (Chapter 54) and killed off Mine. Everything else was manipulated around, cut out and sped up, but kept the same sorta. Lubbock and Surya's death scenes were pretty different, but they still died non the less.

 

You're not missing out on a whole lot from the Manga. If you don't want to cry/break the screen/get miffed then I'd suggest avoiding the anime. If you thought the earlier episodes had poor animation you should check out Budou. These last episodes had some of the most boring looking backgrounds since Dragon Ball Z - you know the generic, light blue sky and clouds' default Windows 7 background? 

 

But I say watch it anyway just for curiosity sake. I liked the last Episode, and it's not because I wanted Mine to die.

It was pretty good for 19 episodes. 

 

After episode 19 they decided to fast forward though some important parts of the manga and cut alot of parts and chars out (I guess to give the anime a conclusive endin' rather then leave it on a cliffhanger). 

 

They seem to be goin' for their own endin'.

Let's all pray that that one Teigu Tatsumi wished existed in the beginning of the series (one to revive people) is actually real.

 

I kind of don't feel like reading the next chapter of the manga anymore after knowing this.

I can deal with characters dying to some extent. But she was my absolute favorite.

It's like if someone killed off Nico.

I'd have no reason left to live.

 

To me Mine was the best character in Akame ga Kill. the series won't recover without her for me.

The amount of death flag for her in the manga is too damned high. I'll be really really surprised if she lives.

There's no guarantee that Mine's dead in the Manga anyhow. The Anime is taking liberties right now without sources to follow. They didn't adapt Tatsumi's Teigu evolution from the last chapter (yet.)
