Bahaha, I'm glad I saw that last episode. They had me laughing really hard at Esdeaths death. She really went poof into a mist of ice huh?

Oh yeah I forgot to mention her death was also pretty pathetic, just evaporates into the air along with Tatsumi somehow.

 

She's also the only person who lasted like 2 whole minutes after being cut by Akame's sword, i thought it was supposed to spread across your body in a matter of seconds, but you always have time for a little chat after you get cut in half I guess.

Well yeah she wasn't literally cut in half, but I mean when you get a gash across your body from a cursed weapon that's meant to give you a heart attack in seconds and you don't even cringe and just chat while calmly walking, seems a little farfetched.

I'm so done if the manga ends like this.

I decided i'd just jump into the last episode since everyone here pretty much filled me in on what happened and I don't think i missed any vital parts and I don't feel like sitting through the whole thing.

So basically everyone except Akame died.. yay...

I also love how they just had fireworks set up for celebration, like it was already implied Night Raid would win.

I agree the ending should be this way (Night Raid winning and building a new Kingdom) but the anime made it feel a little empty by literally killing off everyone without developing them properly and having Akame only showing her true power at the end like "Hey we're naming the series after her but you'll only know why at the very end!".

Note that I'm okay with characters dying, but they should have meaningful deaths and I think Leone's death in particular was horribly done and had no reason to be there (yeah let's just get shot 10 times because having a strong will is much better!) other than being there to kill her off and it just made her character look bad imo and they even dare to make her go around town visiting places with 10 holes punctured in her body.

Mine's death was also pretty meaningless given that she had almost no attachment to the story (because the anime cut off the romance between her and Tatsumi which would have made her death a lot more impactful).

Tatsumi's death was meh, I guess he never really did have any strong points other than being hte protagonist but I still felt like they were just killing him off for the sake of killing him off, his death added no value whatsoever.

Overall after going for an original ending I truly believe Akame ga Kill shot itself in the foot because the pacing and balance between the deaths and the plot progression got totally jumbled up and made it look like a joke by trying to make the climax this deathfest that was like an empty oyster. They just went haphazardly killing off characters to try and desperately make the whole thing more dramatic/impactful which in turn resulted in everything feeling rushed for no reason.

Maybe I'm the only one that feels like this but eh.

Akame killed Esdeath with her newfound ability that turns her into a Super Saiyan.

Esdeath and Tatsumi evaporated (literally)

Leone was looking for the prime minister, when she found him and was about to attack him he pulls out his teigu which I assume destroys other teigu and it breaks Leone's belt, he then pulls out a gun and shoots Leone but she's all "My willpower2stronk" and smashes his face while he shoots her like 10 times in the stomach (which she could have dodged but whatever)

Leone then walks out (remember, after being shot 10 times) goes to meet Akame and says goodbye to her like it's nothing and visits some other friends while they party and then she goes to an alley to pass out and die.

The kingdom is then rebuilt, Najenda becomes the new King I assume, the old Emperor (the kid) is publicly executed albeit he apologizes to Najenda and asks to built a bloodshed free kingdom.

Akame goes off on her own as an assassin because that's cool and stuff (???)

 

And that's that.

 

They don't even bother remembering or honoring any of the deceased Night Raid members or anything (making their deaths pretty worthless), you just have to deal with it.

I seriously don't know why, weren't they supposed to be heroes from the Revolutionary Army or were they always advertised as the bad guys even by them? Because i'm pretty sure it'd be easy to explain things to the people but whatever, logic will be logic.

Well in this case i don't have a huge problem with the path they took, it could have gone 2 ways really:

1. Night Raid was revealed to be behind Esdeath's and the Prime Minister's death (alongside many other feats) and they'd be venerated as heroes
2. Night Raid is kept a secret from the public and they go down in history as the silent heroes (the word hero might not be the correct term as they did a lot of dirty jobs) who no one heard of but still performed this "miracle" which is kind of a poetic thing a lot of series have done in the past

That part is the one that least bothers me, they should still have paid a homage to Tatsumi and the others though, even if in secret, but they couldn't even do that.

The last episode is mostly about akame with no recognition to the other characters. Honestly its a crappy ending to a series that had a lot of promise

Personally I've lost a bit of excitement over the Manga because the Anime characterized them in such a stupid way. They lampooned themselves pretty hard - hitting that self destruct button after episode 19. I can't look at any of the characters nor take the plot seriously anymore after this.

 

You could make a grand speech, but once you fart on that podium it's all you'll be remembered for.

You say it like I'm lying lol. This is common knowledge to anyone who's followed the Manga and Anime closely. You don't need to PM me to know how many chapters they've skipped. You can start from about 40 and count from there since I don't remember the exact figures. Besides there are important characterizations that the Anime completely glossed over.

 

Still, true or not I don't think anyone can stop themselves from having a wry smile on their face when thinking about Akame ga Kill after this.
