Avil Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 To put it simply, I despise tsundere characters and I think I'm not alone in this so I'd like some recommendations on tsundere-free VN. I'm willing to concede if the MC is good enough to handle the tsundere and not turn into a mangina punching bag like always, but I can't seem to find VN without tsundere or with a strong MC so please help me!. Silvz Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Well, G-senjou no maou doesn't have one =3 Rewrite kindda have Lucia, but she and the MC are so, SO, awesome that you don't even notice Quote
Silvz Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Oh, and Umineko no Naku Koro ni. But it's a Kinect Novel Quote
Stanleys Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 The only ones I can think of off my list are KonoSora and Deardrops, though Riho from Deardrops could be a tsundere, I'm not too clear on that. Quote
Avil Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 Using vndb tags the "classic Tsundere" might be an exception but on VN like konosora where the tsundere is not only a tsundere but also a well developed character thanks for the recomendation. Quote
crunchytaco Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Sharin no Kuni. The Tsundere's a fake. Most of the personality cliches are visible at the beginning but crumble afterwards. Quote
InvertMouse Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Maybe 999 on the DS? That one had no tsundere from what I recall XD~ Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors Chou Dengeki Stryker Kyonyuu Fantasy 2 (though to the first game and its sequels' credit their tsundere has good character development) Avil 1 Quote
Darkshine Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Tsunderes are the dominant species so it will be hard to avoid them. Â How about Dangan Ronpa! Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Just remembered another one: Ayakashibito Quote
Rin91 Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Kira☆Kira and Shuffle! come to mind. Shuffle has no tsunderes but three derederes, if that's your thing. BookwormOtaku 1 Quote
Avil Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 I know I'm asking the impossible but I really really can't stand tsunderes (the violent ones are instaquit), and ayakashibito had suzu, io and the most mangina mc I've ever seen Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Saya no Uta Chain The Lost Footprints Kara no Shoujo (provided you don't mind character death) Hakuoki Comyu Utawarerumono Prima Stella MinDead Blood Gun Katana  I can say if you want a genre that's practically tsundere proof, games of the...darker/hardcore variety(ie Conquering the Queen, Virgin Roster and Valkyrie Svia) might be worth your while. At least if one of the heroines is of the violent tsundere type the protagonist is able to "fix" that after a few ero scenes Avil 1 Quote
Avil Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 I like darker games as well as lighthearted ones, sometimes you feel like reading something about a school club/love triangles and sometimes you feel like reading about murders and mistery, I like pretty much everything except tsunderes and wimps/hetare mc. Cythnar Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Kira☆Kira and Shuffle! come to mind. Shuffle has no tsunderes but three derederes, if that's your thing. Damn, three in one? I smell -dere discrimination! This is blasphemy! Does it at least have a yandere to balance it off?! Quote
Okami Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Well, G-senjou no maou doesn't have one =3 Rewrite kindda have Lucia, but she and the MC are so, SO, awesome that you don't even notice  Did you forgot about Mizuha?  Most female x male romance centered VNs that are not otome have at least one tsundare, If you hate them that much you might want to stick with Shoujo-AI, Snounen-AI & Otome VNs when it comes to romance genre. Decay Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014  Did you forgot about Mizuha?  Most female x male romance centered VNs that are not otome have at least one tsundare, If you hate them that much you might want to stick with Shoujo-AI, Snounen-AI & Otome VNs when it comes to romance genre.   There are a lot that do, but also a lot that don't, so there's no harm in seeking out those that don't. There are plenty.  People have already mentioned pretty much all of Overdrive's games. They don't really have any tsunderes. The closest is Riho from Deardrops but she accepts the protagonist pretty quickly. August's games also has very few tsunderes. Take a look at Fortune Arterial, Yoake Mae yori Ruri Iro na, and Aiyoku no Eustia. Yokae's all-ages version has one but it's just one minor heroine out of many. You barely see her in most of the routes.  edit: And how could we all forget Little Busters? Quote
Silvz Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I don't see Mizuha as a Tsundere, at all. Besides boring, she just SPOILER HERE faked about that atitude towards Kyousuke, but it was just during common route. After that "hating", she never acted like that again so nah, not tsundere at all Quote
Decay Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 You know there are spoiler tags. like this  edit: And that's pretty much the definition of "Classic Tsundere". One who starts off hostile but warms up eventually and never turns back. That's how most used to be (hence the distinction between "'classic" and "modern" on VNDB). Mizuha is textbook tsundere. Quote
Nyanko Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Actually a lot of mystery/dark VNs don't have tsunderes or just non-effective ones  - Saya no Uta - Kikokugai - G-senjou no Maou has 1 tsundere but she is not over the top and the MC is strong in that route, there is another girl that is bossing him around though, she's the MC sister and she has a route..but again, the MC is strong, its worth to try. - Sharin no Kuni has the same, 1 tsundere (and an annoying one) but the MC is pretty strong, this VN is darkish but not as much as the others in this list - Shikkoku no Sharnoth - Sekien no Inganock - All works from 07th Expansion - Swan Song - Narcissu - True Remembrance - 999 - Hakuouki (otome) - Also, so far I have not yet encountered a tsundere in Gekkou no Carnevale, I secretly hope it stays that way ^^; Quote
Clephas Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Hapymaher has no tsundere heroines...  Konata yori Kanata Made Otome ga Tsumugu Koi no Canvas  Just off the top of my head. Incidentally, I'm not counting heroines that honestly hated the protagonist at the beginning but got over it without that stupid 'tsundere interval' that happens so often with antagonistic heroines. Rin91 Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Damn, three in one? I smell -dere discrimination! This is blasphemy! Does it at least have a yandere to balance it off?! It does! Sort of. There's defenitely a lot of yan- in one of those derederes at least. And there's a coodere, too. Cythnar 1 Quote
