InvertMouse Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Hello everyone . So urm yeah I kind of like know this guy who makes games with heavy visual novel influences. He has two games on Greenlight and neither of them have been greenlit. Can you believe that ? Anyway, I wanted to ask for some help. Specifically, where do you folks go for VN news? I have recently stumbled upon several blogs etc that have quite a niche following. Those are the ones that would be great to know about. There are some serious VN readers here so hopefully there might be some sites that I have never even heard of. We are all familiar with big sites such as IGN. Unfortunately, most of them rarely respond to emails. Any other general thoughts and ideas would be appreciated, too. Thank you heaps everyone . I will like pass on the information here to my friend and stuff. Quote
Chronopolis Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 If it's news on English releases, Fuwanovel, reddit, or somewhere else will be busy talking about. For Japanese titles, apparently, it's a combination of browsing reviews and articles on erogegamescape and twitter. http://indiegames.com/cgi-bin/mt5/mt-search.cgi?blog_id=14&tag=visual%20novel&limit=20 Here's another active enough discussion thread. http://amaterasu.tindabox.net/forums/index.php?topic=111.1590 Pre-release coverage on like evverything: http://omochikaeri.wordpress.com/ Not really active or news but worth checking around: http://www.neechin.net/ http://ask.fm/moogy0 http://whatistomato.wordpress.com/index/ http://clephasstomach.blogspot.ca Quote
Flutterz Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Well, if neither game got greenlit I'm sure they're just not very good. I jest, you know I love your games :-P I mostly just get my news from random Fuwa topics and from the erogegames translations topic, so I'm afraid I can't help you much. Quote

I will try and make the most out of it! Haha, Flutterz (TUT)/~ Yeah I am curious about how Greenlight is doing as well but that is the current system so just have to play the game, as they say~ Quote
Kara Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 "friend" Yeah it sounds like she likes this guy as more than a friend. Quote
CMGarcia Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Yeah it sounds like she likes this guy as more than a friend. OP is talking about themselves. You don't see the author of the greenlight or kickstarter pages? Quote
sanahtlig Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I get most of my news from VN message boards and browsing VNDB. For news about Japanese titles, I browse Hau Omachikaeri's eroge release threads as well as Getchu. Encubed was a great source while it was still active, as was VNTLS. As far as original English VNs, I don't follow those so I don't know where those audiences tend to congregate. Quote
Guest Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 What about Lemmasoft ? Or maybe there's something I didn't get ? But that's the first website I'd think of with a big OELVN community. Quote
Rin91 Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 If it's weekly translation updates on various projects you want then this forum is a good source of information. It's basically just a copy+paste of the one that's posted on 4chan's /jp/ forum every week with some adjustments, but it's a nice place to find the earlier posts as well. Quote
