Mr Poltroon Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Give him the money and say "It took quite some time, but I finally managed to arrange something for you. Unfortunately, it's not exactly in the best part of town. But if push comes to shove I guess we both know you can defend yourself, right? Or throw me to the sharks, I guess that's an alternative... Anyhow, I'll be leading you there." Quote
crunchytaco Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Me: Thief-san! How you doing babe! Sorry to keep you waiting. Here's the money I got! Can't have you spending your hard earned income . Let's go my friend! (You will rue the day when I am done with you! Bitch...) I take the thief and follow Mikado's instructions down to a tea... edit: Give him the money and say "It took quite some time, but I finally managed to arrange something for you. crunchytaco Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I beg your pardon? I was just complimenting your persuasive skills that raises no suspicion. Anyhow carry on good-voice in my head! Carry on. Quote

Just a little further until you can see Mikado, but the thief stops here in suspicion. Darnit. Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Say, "What? It does? No, but I went there earlier today... Are you sure you're not mistaken? Or did I just get confused?" Quote

Mr Poltroon Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Say, "Ok, you're definitely confused there. After I talked to you about the brothel, I went to look for one. That's when I came here. And that's why I think it's strange that you remember this as a dead end, for I certainly don't. As for the money, I don't keep it on my person at all times, I had to use personal funds I had stored, but there you go. You may have noticed this already, but I'm kinda hoping to get at least my clothes back for treating you, I wouldn't waste so much money otherwise." Quote

The thief becomes increasingly infuriated, feeling indignant that you're suddenly so domineering. Just when he's about to burst, however... You remember, after God forgot, that Johannes gave you a Pattern 1800 Infantry Rifle, which is visible under the thief's cloak. Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Say, "Yes, that is indeed my rifle, this lad here is a thief, it seems. Anyways, thief, I said I was going to 'borrow' the money because you were under the impression that I had none left. I choose whichever words would calm you down in the spur of the moment. Now, please just stop shouting and let's continue going. We'll soon find out if it's actually a dead end or not. And, um... Mr. Johannes? If you could come with us, I'll explain it to you on the way, why he has my stuff and everything. I apologize for all these misunderstandings thief, but I intend to treat you to the brothel, I've hopes that you'll be in a better mood and give me my clothes back." As this things seem to be about to explode, if you deem my speech wouldn't be enough to calm them down feel free to cut my speech short. I wrote it all hoping it wouldn't come to violence, but even I can see where this is going. Quote
babiker Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Say what Tiago said, but also whisper to Johannes (when the thief isn't looking of course) "If this guy try's any sudden moves, pin him down immediately." Quote

babiker Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Take all your stuff, and leave the thief at the spot with all his belongings, except for his weapons, that you keep for yourself. Say "Good job, Mikado! Never thought you'd be so useful... Since I'm in such a good mood, how about a nice treat at the doughnut shop? You can come along too, Johannes." Quote

As you're leaving the slums, somebody approaches you. You can tell by his features that he's a westerner, maybe even a mercenary, judging by his question. You can't tell how Mikado, stoic as ever, wants to handle the situation. Quote
Roach Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 I'll just go with the most natural choice. Say, "And what if it is?" Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 I see no objections to the move above, it is now a good time to progress with the story. Quote

Kendjin Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 I should point out, I meant the topic was awesome, but then I posted a super awesome pic and confused it all!! Quote

The two are forcing their weapons against each other, and you fear that Mikado's clearly weaker constitution will give out. Quote

Fiddle Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Use this opportunity to strike the defenders legs. With an odd sense of deja vu, you find yourself in front of Mikado and the man clashing weapons. Quote
