have you played Ayakashibito? the story is pretty nice, has good slice of life and action moments as well. 

 

could recomend phantom of inferno as well, but this one is a pain to make it work, its a dvd game so i dont have saves and use passwords instead, plus the only place were i could play without problens was in the ps3 all other dvd players and pc seems to have buggy audio, but even with all these problens its one amazing VN.

 

Could recomend Kara no shoujo but since you said that dark is a not go you should probably pass, although I really recomend the game, amazing story and characters, no to mention gorgeous art.
