After watching the show, I looked for a Heaven's Lost Property game, which led to this DS game. After searching a few forums for an english patch, I found this one, - http://gbatemp.net/threads/sora-no-otoshimono-forte-dreamy-season.283843/ - , but that forum kind of froze up once the people working on the translation stopped showing up.

I don't know too much about translating roms,(or the game itself for that matter,) so I thought it would be a good idea to ask here. Does anyone here know how to/ is willing to tanslate "Sora no Otoshimono Forte: Dreamy Season"?

your best bet is to advertise starting a group and what postilions your looking to fill and look around in the fan translator skills registration thread for ppl willing and able to meet those needs who arent in a current project.

If its an editor then I will be up for it.

I have no idea what I'm doing, but I just posted in the "fan translator skills registration" section. Does it work in the way that people see the request, download the rom (DS), do their part, then share the progress for others to build off of? That would make sense to me, but I know everyone has their ways.

Also, If an editor,(I don't know exactly what any job is/what you do, other than translator,) is needed, then you're hired, Mustkill1234

That thread is not for requests, but for saying "I am capable of doing soandso for anyone looking for such a person." If you don't know what an editor is, then you have a LOT to learn before you can even begin to tackle such a project. Truth is, requests like this one for translations go mostly ignored, because fan translation is an intensely huge amount of work. If a translator is capable of translating VNs at an adequate level of quality, most likely they have their own games in mind, and these projects take a very long time, usually many months to a year or more. The end result is that I haven't ever seen anyone actually accept and follow through on a this kind of request.

If you want to help out and further the cause, then learn Japanese! I'm not being snide, but sincere. It's the best way to contribute.

I agree with this for otherwise, if it takes you forever to translate, you most likely will just give up. FIrst you should learn Jap or recruit people who know Jap and also look up what you need for a translation team: the most basic members being translators, editors and hackers.

And a hint is that if you want it done well then you should try to hire people with a good Jap knowledge aka study jap, an editor that is a native english speaker and a capable hacker.
