I don't particularly care when the H occurs if it happens to affect the plot or characters (like in Amane's route in Grisaia).

Amane's H-scenes are the perfect example of plot relevant h-scenes. It couldn't have been done any better in that regard.

I prefer my H-scenes to happen wherever it happens to feel natural. Unless it's something like a nukige, where early and often should be the motto, I prefer for them to happen once you've learned to connect with the character a bit more.
