Kimanor Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Have you ever shed your precious tears to a visual novel? Was it out of love for the characters? Hatred towards the antagonist? Laughter towards a certain event or the terrible plot? Or maybe you simply encountered a story that can relate to you? I have to admit, I have certainly cried due to a visual novel. One such example would have to be Hoshizora no Memoria, particularly when I learnt what the mystery girl's name meant in Japanese. Such wonders you can only find in the Japanese language have made me shed tears. So, I ask of you fuwanovel! What visual novels have you produced tears for!?!?! A rule to keep in mind (though this is common sense): Oh and keep this spoiler-free please! If you absolutely must spoil something, denote it in a spoiler caption, though also mention beforehand what visual novel the spoiler pertains to! Thanks! Quote
madvanced Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Grisaia left me in some moments on the verge of tears, there was one ending that certainly did so to me. Quote
Kimanor Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 Grisaia left me in some moments on the verge of tears, there was one ending that certainly did so to me. Ahh I am currently playing Grisaia no Kajitsu, and I must say so far, after only one route under my belt and another a quarter through, I am close to tears. Quote

It's good stuff. Fate/Stay Night had it's moments of tears too (I'm looking at you Ilyia). Quote
salmon_samurai Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Konosora. But uh... I'm a crybaby. So it isn't really that hard to make me weep. S'why I haven't touched Clannad or the other *really* sad ones yet. Quote
Monmon Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I played lots of vns...kinda. However only one vn that really impacted me to the point i cried like a baby. Not just tears but cried while sobbing. The vn i`m talkin about is Sharin no kuni,Himawari no shoujo. I think the reason why i cried and got so emotional with Sharin because it kinda remind me of what happened in my past that i couldnt forget. Especially Sachi route and Natsumi arc, those 2 arcs really hit me. Quote
Life Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 You guys are probably tired of hearing me say this but given the topic, Little Busters! has been the only VN to make me cry. That scene was too beautiful for me. *Still trying to find another VN to make me cry* I am not a masochist. Right? Quote
Funnerific Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Too many to list. Honestly I like crying, I want things to have a strong impact on me. Don't remember the last time I cried about IRL things, must've been over 10 years ago. Quote

zakobot Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 The last two episodes of Time Travelers (32 and 33) were real tear jerkers. But you'd need to watch all the other episodes to really appreciate the build up. (10 hours worth). Quote
InvertMouse Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 My two would be Narcissu and Ever17. Well, they had the potential to, anyway. I'm not much of a crier XD~ Quote
Nyanko Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I don't cry that often, but Saya no Uta ending, Umineko ending and Muv-Luv..eh.. all over had all my tears. That doesn't mean I'm insensitive for emotional moments in stories, there were a lot of moments where I was close to crying, but then I just had a tingly nose for a few minutes. These moments I remember were in: - Higurashi Meakashi-hen - I/O the two first ' routes I read after finishing route E - Sekien no Inganock - Rose Guns Days 1 certain scene involving Rose - Kikokugai - Higanbana 2nd night Quote
Chewy Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Clannad kind of Little Busters not really Most stuff I play are all comedy so yeah. Quote

Kenshin_sama Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Just about any VN that tries to be emotional will make me cry. I'm pretty soft. Biggest tear-jerker for me is Little Busters. ;_; So far, the only game that's tried to make me cry and failed is Katawa Shoujo. I kinda dropped it after just reading Hanako's route though. Can't remember what it specifically was that put me off, and I wouldn't necessarily call it a bad game, but I didn't like the way it was written. Quote
ExiledSaber Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Kana Little Sister. Cried so many manly tears. Quote
