Clockwork Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I'm not wholly good at this kind of thing, both asking for help introducing myself, but I was asked by the bubble that popped up when I hovered over the Forum's name. My name isn't important, or at least not that important because I've got the username. I like almost all kinds of humour, and anime. I recently watched "Kodomo no Jikan", "Kiss x Sis", and Yosuga no Sora" (in that order) and loved them all, just like anime like "Attack on Titan", "Bleach", or "Full Metal Alchemist". I do have one question though, how do you get the VNs to work after downloading them? I've downloaded a few, but they won't actually work. Can someone help me with this? Quote
Life Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Welcome to the party! It depends where you have downloaded them from and how far through the installation you are. Daemon tools is useful as most vns are downloaded in an iso format. Quote
Flutterz Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Welcome to the forums Rattletrap Clockwork! Hope you enjoy your stay! A lot of VNs require you to switch to Japanese locale. That might be your problem. https://fuwanovel.net/faq/setting-windows-to-japanese-locale Have a moe: Quote
V_Kitsune_V Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Another one, hmm still haven't done mine but a month is too late in my opinion. Anyway, welcome to the dark depths of the internet. Here, have a Fox Quote

~SnowBunny~ Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 LOOKS LIKE IM LATE TO THE PARTY, Welcome to the beautiful Fuwnovel Forums I look forward from hearing from you so please message me! By the way How did you like Yoosuga No Sora It is my favorite anime of all time. I really wish to get feed back soon! Your New Friend ~SnowBunny~ Quote
SanadaShadow Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I don't know jack shit about the mainstream anime people watch, but you really should try out the Monogatari series. If you can get through some talking at the start, the anime is pretty good with its comedy. Another thing worth trying out in the VN section is Rewrite. SERIOUSLY. DROP EVERYTHING AND DOWNLOAD IT. It is, hands down, one of the best VN in existence, although it takes a while to really kick off into a unique fantasy setting. Also you might like to try G-Senjou No Maou. Sorry if I'm trespassing on what I'm allowed to say. In any case, a late welcome to the forums and have fun. Quote
Clockwork Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 My, my. What a lovely reception. I love this place already! I was beginning to run out of anime to watch, and VNs to look at, but now I think I still have quite some time before I will be finished. I really appreciate the welcoming committee, but I still need the help with the VNs working. I really should have been more clear where I was, and I apologise. I got the VNs' downloaded, and it came out as a text document. I wasn't quite sure what to do after that point, because I had no applications to run it. I guess I should tell you that I'm using a Mac OS X. I'm not sure if that will affect the VNs or not, but it is the only working computer I have at the moment. Quote

I have never seen that happen. Are you downloading from Fuwa or somewhere else? And yeah, using a Mac will hurt your VN experience. A friend of mine had his screen act crazy when using parallels with Rewrite. Quote
Mr. Meogii Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Welcome to the forums! Please do enjoy your stay. Some Vns require you to install them. Most also require you to have your system local set to Japanese. Now the formalities. Would you like a signature ? Quote
Totodile Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Welcome to Fuwa, please enjoy your stay here. Here have a complimentary chibi Quote
Clockwork Posted September 2, 2014 Author Posted September 2, 2014 I'm downloading from this site, but it always comes out as a text document. I'm unsure as to why though. You seem to be a bit surprised, Kimanor, at the text document. If I knew about it I would tell you, but that is all that I know about it. Quote
SanadaShadow Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 You're downloading the torrents, right? I know it's really trivial, but you're using the uTorrent thing, right? Have you tried downloading different items? Or is your text doc application set to open those types of files? Honestly, I have no idea about techie shit. Quote
Totodile Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 maybe it's from incorrect file designation. Have you tried setting Utorrent as your default torrent downloader? Quote
SanadaShadow Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Is it possible that this is an OS problem? I honestly don't think so. Quote
Kimanor Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Yeah I have never heard of your problem. Could you screenshot it he first part of the text document and show it to us? Quote
MDruidd Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Welcome to FuwaForums ! Enjoy your stay ! Please read G-Senjou no Maou and Grisaia no kajitsu ! Quote
Clockwork Posted September 3, 2014 Author Posted September 3, 2014 http://imgur.com/ihhg4uR I couldn't get the image to pop up, but I got the screenshot on imgur. This link will take you to it. I think I have the proper Torrents. Before I start to make this entirely about helping me, I would like to thank MDruidd for inviting me whether anyone else wants to invite me, I will thank them the same, late is better than never. SanadaShadow Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 'Tis the infamous Symphonic Rain. Perchance, have you scrolled down and checked the troubleshooter's FAQ on the page of download? As a note, the menu will still crash regardless of what you do if you end up like me. Quote
