SanadaShadow Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 My CPU spews out bullshit errors during download and/or game, I've actually tried downloading it five times now. From different sources. Can't e arsed to track down a copy simply to realize it's in Japanese. As I said, it has vn elements but I dont know other good vn with a medieval fantasy setting that I could recomend. I think that depends of the fire emblem, path of radiance and sacred stones had awesome stories, the rest are not bad either, and the excelent part was a mistype. Recommend* Also, in the case of FE8 and FE9, they had significantly less bullshit, but still, PoR had you going through two games just finish the exact same story arc. Also, genocide of the heron clan? Bull. Shit. Sacred Stones... Fictional Demon King possesses ultra-powerful Lyon by chance. I stared at this line for a few minutes to contemplate just how meaningless it was to play FE8, being the easiest game of the series and having the weakest plot. Quote

About FE, I consider path of radiance a complete game, they added to many unecessary twists in the sequel and the game ended having to much bullshit to handle, and sacred stones is nice, I dont dislike those simple good and evil plots. The latest FE awakening has improved in the gameplay department, but the story was a mess. Quote
SanadaShadow Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I hate awakening, because it makes many more matters uncertain. For one thing, the pair function. While it was added specifically for gameplay, does that mean Awakening's squares are just bigger, or does it mean that this entire time Kent was just ignoring her as Lyn was literally standing right beside her and Glass ran a crit through her? SanadaShadow Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 One thing I've hated in all 3D FE games, bar the GC era, is that the battle animations are too realistic. It gets boring quickly. I mean, in the GBA games, the Myrmidons and Swordmasters faded out of vision to hit criticals while Hector weighed his axe before his crit and Mercenaries were just wondering whether or not to crit the before they did and promoted Lyn liked giving the crowd a tease and all that. Agreed. A good suggestion is Nanolife for android. Seriously, that shit is legendary. Quote
Darklord Rooke Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 If the OP doesn't mind OELVNs then Icebound fits the requirements. It has some minor puzzle gameplay but nothing too major. Quote

What is OELVN? Also, unless Fire Emblem has a pc port I won't be able to play it anytime soon (I love RPG games so even if it isn't a VN I'm still willing to try it), I'll also definitely play Utawaremono yeah they need to work their animations better, one amazing strategic rpgs as well is valkyria chronicles, but its better we stop here or we are gonna go way off topic. I've seen gameplay of Valkyria Chronicles, its pretty damn good, anime was amazing too btw I know its off-topic but do you have any news about Phantom remake translation? I saw your topic about it Quote

nohman Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 What is OELVN? Original English Language Visual Novel. Most of them aren't very highly regarded in the VN community, but the few I've played haven't been without merit. krill 1 Quote

Rilarion Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 You can emulate it pretty easily all the way up to the GC Era, though It's especially worth it to play Seisen No Keifu, Blazing Sword and Path of Radiance. If you're a beginner to FE, though, I suggest Sacred Stones. I'll take a look thank you Quote

I can't recommend it enough. Quote
