For those of you who aren't aware, you are allowed to start you matches at any time in case that wasn't clear. Team #1 is the 1st team, meaning they take the 1st turn.

Clarification question regarding decks

In a match, do our decks "refresh" and recover all used cards and won stake cards ONLY when our original deck runs out of cards to draw (so every 3+ rounds)?

So when you win a stake card on a District and it goes to your discard pile, you will only have a chance to use it in a future round once your current deck runs out of cards and you reshuffle your discard pile for your new deck?

Awesome!

One more question: can we we use the Match PM to let the opposing team know that we've made our move?

Totally went blind mode and didn't see the "current team's turn" thing on the google doc.

If a team has enough points in a freelance stake agent's Power of Fuwanovel stat to win the card, but the enemy team uses a relic to match the bribery value, do they still immediately win that freelance stake agent?

I have a little request that I hope will speed things up a bit: Can we put a time-limit to each turn? With the current rate things are going in, we'll be doing this for years until everyone is finished...

I have noticed that some of the PMs I sent out haven't had members read them. If this is the case and you and/or the rest of your teammates want to start playing the game, feel free; I do not expect you to wait because someone does not check their messages.

Hey guys,

Sorry I keep popping in and out of this thread, but I wanted to offer some advice to those who feel the game rounds might take too long to complete as we progress. What I recommend is to get together with your teammate(s) and discuss a strategy with each other.

For each round, I suggest choosing 1 person to play at a time, where they will be responsible for choosing which cards to use and what districts to play them on. After the round is complete, they can pass the torch to another member of their team and continue doing this as the game progresses. Remember that you are all working as a team, and as such, you and your 2nd ally in the competition (your other team's guild) all contribute points toward the final victory point total.

Mainly, trust each other. By making sure you are all on the same general page, you can easily trust each other to play rounds solo for your team. That being said however, this is by no way the correct way of doing things, so do what you think is best.

Good luck!

Hello!

Not that any of you care, but we Team #2 from Guild of Tsunderes are starting our third round soon and we had lots of fun doing Q&A with Ren.

First, the general rules and game format should be easily understandable via Ren's post here: Game Round

As you progress into Round 2 and above, you'll probably have a handful of questions regarding Relics and Location cards, so here's a summary of how to use them:

~~~
1. How to use relic cards
When using a relic card, PM to the match chat* the relic played, its financial power, and the district it's played on.
DO NOT end your turn; wait until Ren verifies the outcome of the played relic card.
*match chat refers to the chat that includes both the opposing team(s) AND Ren
Relic cards:
  • Can only "bribe" AGENT cards; not other relic cards or location cards.
  • Can only be placed on a district that has at least one of your agent cards on it.
  • If played on a friendly district, you must turn face up all of your agent cards on that district
Bribe mechanics:
Whenever you play a relic card, you immediately enter the bribe phase (which determines whether you instantly win the card or not):
  • If agent(s) value + relic value >= stake card's financial value, you IMMEDIATELY win that card, and the next stake card is to be revealed. In this case, please wait for Ren to verify that you've won the card so he can reveal the next stake card. Do NOT let the opponent make their next turn!!!
  • If agent(s) value + relic value < stake card's financial value, nothing happens. You may play another agent card or another relic card next turn to try and bribe again. If it is obvious that the bribe will fail, you may end your turn and allow the next team to go without waiting for Ren's verification.
Note: During the resolution phase, relic cards have no effect whatsoever. They are not included when resolving stake cards. (ie. You cannot do Agent 3 moe power + Relic 2 financial power = 5 moe power to win a stake card with 5 moe power)
2. How to use location cards
When playing a location card, PM the match chat your location card and its effect.
If your location card allows you to choose any agent card from your deck/discard pile to play:
  • If playing the chosen card onto a NON-FRIENDLY district, PM the match chat the card and its stats.
  • If playing the chosen card onto a FRIENDLY district, PM Ren (not the match chat) the card and its stats.
We are Team #1 *facepalm*
1) I'm not talking about you guys, nor am I referring to whatever team number we were assigned in our matches. I am referring to how Guild teams were laid out by Ren:
Battle of the Guilds - Team/Match Announcement
The Teams -
And finally, representing the Tsunderes...
Team #1:
Abdomen
Ivan A.
Zenophilius
(Deck Complete)
Team #2:
Eclipsed
Kurisu-Chan
Ceris
(Deck Complete)
Hence why I said "we, team #2 from Guild of Tsunderes"
*facepalm*
Hey everyone,
Just a quick request. Whenever you PM me a card during the game (whether in the group message or the private message) please be sure to include the values of the cards themselves and not just the names; it's much easier to copy the numbers without having to find the card myself in my saved templates.
Thanks!
Attention teams,
Due to the fact that FruitsPunchSamurai has not looked at this thread or responded to any of the PMs given to him for the BOGs competition, I have decided to remove him from the competition. This means that nohman will be flying solo for the time being. If anyone knows a member of the website who wants to play for the Guild of Traps and help him out, feel free to PM me personally and I would be more than willing to add them to the game.
Thanks again, and enjoy the rest of your matches.
Put me on the Guild of traps. Traps need my love
Tsk tsk tsk..... poor Traps ;-;
Quick question: we have to play out our entire hands, correct? So even if my last card is a relic, but it will have no impact on the field, I'll still need to attach it to something, right?
EDIT: Answered on TS. You can choose to discard a card as your action for the turn. Silly me, was in the rules.
Is it possible to skip a turn and return to the next round with an extra card? Also if an agent has no financial value can you still use a relic to bribe him/her?
1. No, every turn you MUST play a card or discard a card from your hand. See Game Round for more details.
During a team's turn, they must perform 1 of these actions:
  • Assign 1 agent card from their hand faceup to any 1 enemy district or the neutral district
  • Assign 1 agent card from their hand facedown to any one friendly district
  • Play 1 location card from their hand. After the card's effect has been resolved, the card goes to the team's discard pile
  • Place 1 relic on 1 of their agents to bribe a stake card (in this case a freelance agent)
  • Discard 1 card from their hand to their discard pile without applying any effects
2. Agents with no financial value cannot be bribed.
Attention:
To all teams of the BOGs competition, I have an announcement to make regarding the change of how relics are played during each turn.
You are no longer required to announce the relic you are playing during the competition via the PM system, and instead may play them whenever you wish by simply editing the Google Sheet when appropriate. Some rules to keep in mind regarding that:
  • Relic cards are only used to bribe agents, not locations or other relics
  • Relic cards are only allowed to be played on districts that have at least 1 team agent in them. If an agent is moved from the district due to a special effect and the relic card is all that remains, it is allowed to stay there, however you may not play another relic on top of it until you add another agent to the district. If a friendly agent is moved to a location with your team's relic in it, the card is still placed faceup regardless of what district it moves to - you have entered a relic check condition (see below)
  • Once you play a relic card, all facedown cards are revealed, including the enemy team's cards. The only time a card is not forced to be played faceup is if you add an agent to a district containing an enemy relic; the only time they are forced to place their card faceup is if their opponent decides to play an agent or relic card on subsequent turns. Basically, whenever you enter a relic check condition (see below), cards are forced faceup, otherwise they are allowed to remain facedown if allowed
  • Relics that do not bribe a stake card are left in the district. An agent or relic may be played on subsequent turns in order to enter another relic check condition (see below), otherwise the main value for each stake card continues to be used
When a relic is played, the game enters what it known as a "relic check condition" where all cards are forced to be flipped faceup (if applicable) and a mini Resolution Phase occurs. If the team who played the relic card meets the bribe condition, they immediately win the card and a new card is placed in the district pile. If the team who played the relic card does not meet the bribe condition, play is passed to the next team as normal and the main stat is once again used for determining who wins the stake card. As stated before, the team who played the relic is allowed to place additional agents/relics on the district in subsequent turns in an attempt to enter another relic check condition, but until they do that, the card's main power value is used at all times.
Now, this is where things become important for the teams...
To start, I have added an extra area on the Google Sheets when dealing with relic cards:
jQoQvKb.jpg
As stated earlier, you are no longer required to announce relic cards and may now add them to the board as normal, however when doing so you are now required to change text in the relic condition box located on the Google Sheet. Basically, anytime your team enters a relic check condition, change the "no" to a "yes" in the excel cell and don't do anything else. Do not change the player turn color, and do not change the card counts. Simply announce in the group PM that a relic check condition is in affect and I will take care of the rest. The 1 and only time you are not required to change the "no" to a "yes" for the check condition is when the very last card of the round is a relic card. Since you are entering a normal Resolution Phase after the final card is played, I am able to do the checks myself without having to be told about it.
The reason for this change is due to the fact that players are continuing the round after playing relics. In doing so, you are missing out on the chance for new cards to be revealed, and since I have no way of determining when the card was played unless I go back in and find the edits myself, this is affecting how you may or may not play the round. Basically, whenever a relic check condition or a location card is played, please wait until I do what is necessary so I don't run into problems later on down the line.
TLDR - You are no longer required to announce relic cards when you play them. Simply edit the Google Sheet when playing the card, following all the appropriate rules as stated above. Once you do so, you trigger what is known as a relic check condition. When this happens, simply change the "no" to a "yes" in the respective excel cell and leave the board as is. Do not do anything else as I will take card of the rest. Once the relic check condition is resolved, I will change the "yes" back to a "no" and will let teams know that play can continue as normal.
Thanks guys.
