The Last of Us Movie!?

Well apparently Sony is planning on making a live action movie of "The Last of Us"

And new update. The girl who starred as Arya Stark in Game of Thrones is rumored to have negotiations for a role as Ellie.

Sony also has Ratchet and Clank coming next year I believe. Finally using that film department to do video game movies.

Since I never played The Last of Us, I would definitely be up for a movie.  Having Arya would just make it even more epic.

She originally looked a lot more like her before they changed Ellie's look.

Its not just similar look, even the usual personality she plays is somewhat similar. I actually thought it was her first time I played through it xD.

They also have a Sly Cooper movie for either 2015 or 2016 if I remember right.

 

I'll probably check out this movie but I do think the story is best saved for video games. It worked so well because of the gradual change throughout gameplay

Why can't they just have the actors that made up the characters come back ?!

Gonna be honest here. If the majority of the movies actors aren't the same as the games i will not be happy.

A movie? Really? Sorry but I fail to see the point, the game itself was lackluster, It had some good moments sure, but the whole world was uninspired, basicaly a glorified reskined zomby apocalypse, there is nothing that stands out. 'Last of Us' isnt movie material.

The point would be to obviously capitalize on the name of a well selling game set in a pretty popular movie genre.

 

As for the game itself, I really enjoyed it. The infected and their different stages were pretty cool (a breathe of fresh air from just simple zombies) and the game itself could be pretty intense. The multiplayer wasn't half-bad either, which was nice considering it wasn't a feature that I had given any thought about when I bought it.

The question is why? The game is already a movie. If all they do is retell the same story then it's moot. I hope they explore what happened in between the 20 years that passed after the game's prologue.
