reyaes Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 First anime in my lifetime: Pokemon/Digimon/YuGiOh or something. One of those Saturday morning things Same with me. Pokemon made me delve deeper into anime at a very young age. Because of it, anime became the first thing I had as a child that wasn't taken away once I liked it, which is why I enjoy it so much now. First matured series I saw was Ghost in The Shell: Standalone Complex, when I was about 8. I still think the series is fantastic. Quote
crunchytaco Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 A lot of 70's-80's cartoons appeared back in my baby-hood I didn't realize were Japanese animation at the time. I knew there was something unique about them that got me addicted to them. Can't pinpoint any names though. Quote
Jibril Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Soul Eater is my first anime, but if we're talking about stuff that we also sometimes see in TV and never actually really into, then it'll probably Digimon. Quote
ServeTheServant Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 I used to drop by Anime club in high school just to hang out with a girl who went, so not sure about what we watched in there... but the first anime I watched since beginning to watch anime by myself this year was FMA. Quote
Chewy Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Seems like forever ago but mine was Doraemon i think. Either that or Detective Conan. Mind you this was when I was like under 7 years of age. Quote
SuperWaffleNinja Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Pretty sure that was Toonami. Ah, the good old days. Ditto, or Pokemon, I can't remember which I watched first. Haven't seen it in ages though. No, it was a anime about a man with a yellow afro, sunglasses and he had magic nosehair and fight the evil bald people empire. Quote

suikashoujo Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 I watched Hamtaro when I was six years old, but I didn't know what it was until much later. I actually started with manga before anime (I was a big reader when I was younger), but I think I started watching anime with Pokemon in 3rd grade because it was easily accessible. Quote
Andreas Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 My first anime was Shakugan no Shana. I just one day decided that I would check it out after reading a comment on a nightcore video on youtube about how good it was. At the first episode I was like: "What the hell is this shit" and had to force myself not to quit At the second episode I was like: "Hmm, i guess this is okay" After watching the third episode I was hooked. For the next couple of weeks my life consisted of nothing but watching anime and sleeping. (Yes, nothing else. I completly shut out all my friends and barricaded myself in my room.) Quote
Stray Cat Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 No, it was a anime about a man with a yellow afro, sunglasses and he had magic nosehair and fight the evil bald people empire. I was saying that it Bobobo was on Toonami (a program on Cartoon Network), not Nickalodeon. Quote
SuperWaffleNinja Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 I was saying that it Bobobo was on Toonami (a program on Cartoon Network), not Nickalodeon. ohh, i don't really remember since its a long time ago Quote
AbsoluteAnimeLover Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 My first was probably Hidan no Aria Quote
Amagami Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 I think my first anime was Inazuma Eleven (or Hunter x Hunter), when I were a kid I watched on TV. But at that time I didn't know that it was a anime. Quote
sirjabberwock Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 My first exposure to anime was Naruto. I watched it for quite awhile time without delving deeper for some reason Quote
joehawks12 Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 DBZ on cartoon network in the late 90s probably? I don't remember, it was a long ass time ago when i saw my first anime, and i really didn't know what anime was until around 2006-07 Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 The first anime I saw that I can remember fully is My Neighbor the Totoro; I was at a daycare during the summer and it was some time while I was in fourth or fifth grade. If we're going by kind of remember when I was over at my grandparents' house they had cable while my parents didn't so I'd watch whatever came up on Nickelodeon and I watched these and only just recently discovered they were anime: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Littl'_Bits http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventures_of_the_Little_Koala http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_the_Honey_Bee Edit: This one too... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noozles Forgot because I remember I thought this and Little Koala as being the same show I wonder if there are any DVD collections for those... Chewy Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 My first one would be Digimon as my profile will tell you if you were interested. Quote

Chewy Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Crap I'd forgotten about Dragonball. It's so ingrained in my childhood that I didn't even consider it Don't worry, its normal mate. We all have these type of things that are ingrained in our memories because it was a major part of our childhood. Quote
