First anime in my lifetime: Pokemon/Digimon/YuGiOh or something. One of those Saturday morning things

Same with me. Pokemon made me delve deeper into anime at a very young age. Because of it, anime became the first thing I had as a child that wasn't taken away once I liked it, which is why I enjoy it so much now.

First matured series I saw was Ghost in The Shell: Standalone Complex, when I was about 8. I still think the series is fantastic.

A lot of 70's-80's cartoons appeared back in my baby-hood I didn't realize were Japanese animation at the time. I knew there was something unique about them that got me addicted to them. Can't pinpoint any names though.

Pretty sure that was Toonami.  Ah, the good old days.

Ditto, or Pokemon, I can't remember which I watched first.  Haven't seen it in ages though.

No, it was a anime about a man with a yellow afro, sunglasses and he had magic nosehair and fight the evil bald people empire.

I watched Hamtaro when I was six years old, but I didn't know what it was until much later. I actually started with manga before anime (I was a big reader when I was younger), but I think I started watching anime with Pokemon in 3rd grade because it was easily accessible.

My first anime was Shakugan no Shana. I just one day decided that I would check it out after reading a comment on a nightcore video on youtube about how good it was.

At the first episode I was like: "What the hell is this shit" and had to force myself not to quit

At the second episode I was like: "Hmm, i guess this is okay"

After watching the third episode I was hooked.

For the next couple of weeks my life consisted of nothing but watching anime and sleeping. (Yes, nothing else. I completly shut out all my friends and barricaded myself in my room.)

The first anime I saw that I can remember fully is My Neighbor the Totoro; I was at a daycare during the summer and it was some time while I was in fourth or fifth grade. If we're going by kind of remember when I was over at my grandparents' house they had cable while my parents didn't so I'd watch whatever came up on Nickelodeon and I watched these and only just recently discovered they were anime:

Edit: This one too...

Forgot because I remember I thought this and Little Koala as being the same show

I wonder if there are any DVD collections for those...

I don't remember, it was a long ass time ago when i saw my first anime, and i really didn't know what anime was until around 2006-07

Crap I'd forgotten about Dragonball. It's so ingrained in my childhood that I didn't even consider it

Don't worry, its normal mate. We all have these type of things that are ingrained in our memories because it was a major part of our childhood.
