FlyingPiranha Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I have Grisaia installed on an external hard drive, and usually run it off of my desktop computer. However, if I plug this external drive into my laptop and attempt to run Grisaia, I get a "The game was not installed properly" message. My OS does differ between the computers, the desktop being Windows 7 Ultimate and the laptop being Windows 8.1, but otherwise I'm not surewhat could be going on. Quote
Nosebleed Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Grisaia needs to be installed from scratch when you're switching computers, you can't just install it on an external drive and move it around, your PC needs to change stuff in the registry. So you'd need to install Grisaia from scratch in your new laptop even if you want it in the external drive. Quote
Eclipsed Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Yup. Typically, you'd want to back up the .ISO/the installer files rather than the game itself since you'd need the registry entries to actually run the game. Quote
FlyingPiranha Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 I was fearing that, but I guess I'll just bite the bullet and re-download the installer, then. Thanks! (And I dig the NicoxMaki sig). Quote
