WhisperByte Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I've been reading Rewrite for the past week and I've finished Shizuru's route few hours ago. Since it crushed my soul, shattered my heart and caused an onion-cutting ninja infestation, I need some healing before I move on to the remaining 3 routes. Are there any decent (or better) translated visual novels with happy endings. I'm okay with sad drama and stuff during the "journey" as long as the endings are happy (or at worst sweet with a pinch of bitterness) Thank you P.S. Novels that I've already read: Hoshizora no Memoria, Grisaia no Kajitsu, Muv Luv Extra, Fate/Stay Night Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I'd usually make a more detailed list, but I honestly can't be bothered at the moment. My Girlfriend is the President - Doesn't take itself seriously, lots of comedy, lots of 'romance'. Sharin no Kuni - An old-ish game which is also considered awesome. Good endings all around. Little Busters! and Clannad both end well, I think... But your heart will get crushed all the same. Quote
Rose Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 If My Heart Had Wings is pretty heartwarming. Of course there are sad moments and all, but the happiness in it is much superior to the sadness. surrendertome 1 Quote
Mr. Meogii Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Sharin no Kuni - An old-ish game which is also considered awesome. Good endings all around. . Why have you not Read Sharin by now ?! I definitely Recommend this to you. If My heart had wings Is another great Romance. Full of the Feels. Please do yourself a favor and read these. Quote

WhisperByte Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 Thanks. I'll give Sharin no Kuni and If My Heart Had Wings a try. Lol Pretty heartwarming ? It's Full of Uppercut "Feels". Left Right and Center! But the endings are happy, right? Quote

Rose Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Lol Pretty heartwarming ? It's Full of Uppercut "Feels". Left Right and Center! They weren't that strong, to be honest. I haven't read Yoru nor Asa, so I can't say about those two. The novel may have feels in every route to some extent, but they ain't close to how happy things end. Special mention to Amane, such an amazing ending. Quote

Novels that I've already read: Hoshizora no Memoria, Grisaia no Kajitsu, Muv Luv Extra, Fate/Stay Night Ah, Shizuru's route got you too, huh? I think that route's ending made me cry the most out of all routes. It's a killer indeed. I also recommend If My Heart Had Wings. Don't worry about the others mentioning that there are 'sad moments'. The VN's one of the most lighthearted easygoing casual slice-of-life happy type of story you can get. Very little drama, very little sadness. Lots and lots of happytimes and building gliders. Oh and yeah all happy endings~ Quote

She is the route you should strive to complete too! Quote
Carronade Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 The Galaxy Angel series is pretty light hearted, all the time. Might be what you're looking for. Quote
Kurisu-Chan Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Majikoi, it's pretty light hearted, no "sad" feels to be expected(well, only in one route). Quote
melo4496 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I agree with Majikoi. It's the most light-hearted vn i had read so far~ Quote
Keaton Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I would read Shuffle it is pretty laid back and light hearted or at least i thought it was. Quote
kratoscar2008 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Canvas 2. Have only finished Elis route but most of the game is lighthearted and most of the drama happens on the respective routes wich dont take too long at all. Honestly most of the drama is from the MC himself. Quote
WhisperByte Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 Ooh. More suggestions. Thanks guys Majikoi for now is out of the question, though, because best girl's (based on what I've seen in anime) route is not fully translated yet so I'm still waiting. How's Shuffle VN different from anime? Also it seems that If My Heart Had Wings official translation is regarded as crap and current restoration patch is not fully complete. Is the patch still decent enough? Also Canvas 2.... Two... Is it a direct sequel or can I just skip Canvas 1? Quote
kratoscar2008 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 You can skip Canvas 1 considering the first one isnt translated and it appears only the setting is the link of the series. Quote
