SirArucard Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Hello. I am trying to translate the game: "Go! Go! Nippon! ~My First Trip to Japan~" to portuguese. ( http://www.mangagamer.com/ did this game). I am using ExtractData English v1.20 to extract the files, but I can't find the text files, only images and sound files. Where I can find this files? How can I, after translating, put back the translation files in the game? Sorry for this questions, because I am noob. Thank you! Quote
slamerz Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 We'd need to know what file formats are in the game in order to try and help you work with them. SirArucard 1 Quote
slamerz Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Yeah, found a copy, Emi's right all the text is in .data01000.arc, but it's all encrypted so you'll need to figure out what encryption they used to work with it any further. SirArucard 1 Quote
SirArucard Posted November 20, 2014 Author Posted November 20, 2014 I see, Thank you. Do you know where I can find this information of how to decrypt these files? Quote
Heizei_koukousei Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Are you getting a bunch of files with an unknown extension? Like it just says FILE as the type for all the files you extracted from the .arc file? Do you know what is the engine that the game runs on? You will need a tool pack for the specific engine so that you can get the script into .TXT files Quote

Heizei_koukousei Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Emi's post is accurate as to what you get out of the arc file, no file extensions. If there are no file extensions then he (or whoever is working on this) need a program like Python and some script extraction tools to get those files that Emi mentioned into a readable file type Quote
doppel222 Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I see, Thank you. Do you know where I can find this information of how to decrypt these files? Can you upload the file and I'll try to extract it for you. Quote

SirArucard Posted November 22, 2014 Author Posted November 22, 2014 Okay, here it is .arc. Most of the scripts you need to edit are in _aki, _main and _map. Don't worry about the scr files there's nothing to edit in there so I didn't dump it. Oh I forgot, this game is in both Japanese/English version so you don't have to worry about the text in japanese just ignore them and translate the one in english. I'll just PM you tomorrow the method to put it back together. I'm really busy right now Oh, thank you! I will wait your PM. Quote

skypy Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 doppel222, can you repack the file(txt) so the new translited words replace the english text? Quote
Inner Winter Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 I read readme.txt from BGI script tools If you want to pack them into an .arc file, there are tools that do this (such as arccreate in the bgitools package) Quote
