Confession: My hands have been hurting lately, and I'm seriously considering taking up rice bucket strength training (yes, that's actually a thing) in the hopes that it'll help stave off carpal tunnel.

I can't sleep without vicodin. Is my life considered hellish yet? I guess not since I live in middle class America, but it feels like it. Fucking pain fuck.

Time for my first(?) pathetic internet rant(?) whining self-post. I definitely need some bandages to cover up those wrist wounds while I listen to my Offspring album.

First off, I don't know if anyone who knows me has ever asked themselves "Why is this TexasDice guy - who loves to analyze stories and characters on academic levels and hates things that are made by lazy people who don't care about their work - only reading stuff that is low on plot and substance?" - Probably not, because I'm just one really handsome guy out of a thousand from an internet forum about manga porn.

Here is the explanation anyway: Nowadays, close to everything has to be "dark" and "gritty". Movies, video games, TV shows, everything is filled with violence, depression and moral "'grays'. You know what else is this kind of "serious"? Real life. Every damn day, we hear about death and poverty, while greedy politicians and corporates play chess with billions of human lives.

And I'm just sick of seeing that. I want color, I want to feel good as an individual and I want my heroes to be real heroes, while the bad guys are real bad guys. Fun, is the word, I want to have fun. Screw this "seriousness" that is so popular nowadays. And if things have to be a little more corny than they need to in order to accomplish that, so be it.

All I want is to keep that stuff out of my escapism. Because if I don't, I'll snap someday and throw another hooker out of my bathroom window .

 

This is obviously not meant as an excuse for everything to get a passing grade. I place a very high value on the "soul", "motivation" and "spark" behind every piece of fiction and things like Sakura Sandler will never get a positive comment from me, no matter how many colors and pixels they hide in between their memes and fart jokes. Because if I hate anything more than real life, it's exploiting the stupid for money (which kind of goes hand-in-hand, now that I think about it.)

Confession: Recently I started going to a prep school to improve my writing in essays for a important exam and every week I have to write one. In the beginning I said to myself that I would try write the essay immediately and not leave it to the last day and guess what? I did it in the last day. Next week I didn't even bother to think about doing it immediately. Now where I can sign up for the world championship of procrastination?

Confession 2: It's that time of the year again, when it's 28 degrees on the second floor where my bedroom is which makes it impossible to sleep, so I have to sleep in the basement where the temperature is a much more pleasant 18 degrees.

I hear concrete slabs are nice and cool, and make surprisingly comfortable pillows once you get used to them.
