Clephas Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Sometimes, it is interesting to turn the voices off in your favorite VN... and some VNs don't really need voices. Edit: A VN that utilizes music and writing to effectively create atmosphere doesn't really need voices. Quote
Nerathim Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, Tsukihime, Kagetsu Tohya, 07th Expansion works. Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted November 30, 2014 Author Posted November 30, 2014 Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, Tsukihime, Kagetsu Tohya, 07th Expansion works. Unfortunately, most of those are already on my list, and Fate/Hollow Ataraxia has characters whose voices we already know from Fate/stay night, so it doesn't work either. But thanks anyways. Quote

You can go with the Rance games too, I don't see any of them on your list. Quote
TexasDice Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Everlasting Summer, that russian VN which is on steam for free, is basically voiceless. Quote
kratoscar2008 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 I got my hands on a non voiced kanon, True Love i guess too. Quote
Mikimir Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Monmusu Quest I don't know any VNs without voice sorry what you see up there is nothingitmustbeyourimagination Quote
-Flashback- Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Lots of older visual novels don't come with voices, if you are into that kind... I can recommend you some. Quote
Stray Cat Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 You have not read Narcissu. It is free on Steam. This is a problem. Quote
-Flashback- Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Hmmmm... why would you prefer a VN without sound though? The Japanese voice actresses usually sound so sexy. Quote
kyrt Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I kinda wanna say Sengoku Rance (or other Rance games I guess) but I'm not sure if that's the type of visual novel you would be interested in...then again you did finish kamidori alchemy so maybe. Quote
Zalor Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 You have not read Narcissu. It is free on Steam. This is a problem. While Narcissu does technically have a voiced version, the writer specifically wrote the voiced version differently from the unvoiced version. Meaning different scripts were made for each version. Also, the writer originally intended Narcissu to be unvoiced. So by reading it unvoiced you will be following his original wishes, so yeah. Also, I didn't check your VNDB, but somehow I suspect that you have already read it. Edit: Holy shit! I just checked and you haven't read Narcissu. Tiagofvarela, get on that! Then you can read my thoughts on it as well :3 Stray Cat 1 Quote

Zalor Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Narcissu is one of those I'll probably never read. I am not at all a fan of crying on purpose. That's the point though, neither am I. The writer originally didn't intend for it to be a crying game, but fans received it that way. What Narcissu does do, is present the theme of death, and our final attachments to life, in a really interesting perspective you probably haven't seen before. (I go into far more spoiled filled detail in my analysis of it). It's just that death tends to make people cry. But I definitely consider the first game quite an intellectual work and a must read even for people who don't like the utsuge genre. Also, its only like 2-3 hours long. Quote
Totodile Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 A comic book. Also Leaves is one but it doesn't have any Choices either Quote
