RinXD Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 So thoughts and expectations of this upcoming addition to the MLA Universe Quote
kyrt Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I will be ecstatic if it actually manages to get a translation...and if it's actually any good. Admittedly I'm also waiting for plenty of the other parts of the series to be translated since I'm not going to get to read them any other way. I'll keep an eye on it for sure. Quote
RinXD Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 Well i see it getting a translation over the little side stories that have went on to tell the truth since the muv luv series has always had quick translations, and from all ive read on it , it seems like it will be just as good if not better then MLA Quote
Ryechu Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 If gabgrave is the one still translating it, I won't expect much. Â He relies on machine translation. Â Source: Â I worked on TDA00. Quote
kyrt Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I find it being better than MLA very difficult to believe. MLA had 2 games prior to it to develop the characters and from my basic understanding Schwarzesmarken had 4-5 light novels? The first two games in the muv-luv series might not have been super interesting but they definitely helped build up the characters for muv-luv alternative. We also went into muv-luv alternative without any knowledge of what was to happen. How is Schwarzesmarken going to be able to keep the mystery of the universe alive when we as readers know what is going to happen? This does take place in 1983 and I'm sure they can build up likeable characters and the like but what is going to be different. What is going to make it standout from it's predecessors? Don't get me wrong I really hope this does well and although I might not see it for another few years (assuming it's good enough to translate) I do look forward to reading it and I hope it gets a proper translation...shame Age isn't interested in any overseas market yet. RinXD Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 Well you said we knew nothing going on but the game and time line never touch on the 1983 point of things its mentioned but never fully talked about If gabgrave is the one still translating it, I won't expect much. He relies on machine translation. Source: I worked on TDA00. Im talking about the main group that did the translation for MLA Quote
