Mr Poltroon Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I watched the entire thing on netflix like two years back. The only thing I remember about it was that I couldn't find an ending anywhere in sight. I think it might have been the movie, but of the 167 episodes I don't ever remember it even getting near a conclusion with like the final 10. Seriously. Maybe I just didn't watch it properly, but that was what I took out of it. That makes sense. The conclusion is it's own season for some strange reason. Quote
Nosebleed Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Shagukan no Shana II Episode 1 .......Oh. He didn't hear her say it I was just waiting for your reaction to that. www Eclipsed 1 Quote
Ceris Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I watched all of the Endless 8 in one sitting Or you can watch this I personally didn't care for the series much, it only had its moments in S1. But that movie, I love it so god damn much, I didn't expect to actually love something from that series. Abyssal Monkey 1 Quote

I absolutely love these types of tiling videos, one of my favorite is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnFRHScO1VI There was one of the second season, but it got taken down The second season version was a lot neater because you could see the changes in the seasons and when Kirino reappears when they walk through the Sakura trees. It was pretty neat. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I was feeling unusually optimistic after finishing Chunibyo, so I decided to take a chance on something totally different for me. I've never watched a sports anime before, but I'm a baseball fan, and somehow Oofuri/Big Windup! caught my eye. I've only watched one episode, but it's looking to be really enjoyable - I really like all the little technical details it's throwing in, and the cast and plot are shaping up nicely. Quote
Turnip Sensei Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I started watching GJ-Bu. I really enjoyed the lighthearted comedy, I was grinning like a fool the whole time. But then came the imoutos... I just wanted comedy with cute girls, not annoying imoutos. (Jill is alright.) Please don't tell me the imoutos are staying... Quote
Jibril Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 In these latest chapters they actually do have plot progression which is astonishing most Nisekoi fans They finally found the remaining parts of the book I wouldn't blame anyone for picking TLR:D over Nisekoi. I mean, at least TLR:D has PLOT. And to be fair, even in terms of story it progresses more than Nisekoi, even if they go back to normality, but it has major arcs that develop the characters. So even if everything's just for the sake of porn, at the very least the story evolves, and you can't really be displeased with it. Nisekoi on the other hand is just a vicious cycle of nothingness. So you're saying that Nisekoi second season will be just boring fillers? *sigh* I guess I'll just watch it for the opening song. Quote
Deep Blue Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I finished parasyte, what an awesome story and anime one of the best without a doubt Quote
zoom909 Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I finished watching Onegai My Melody. This was a variation of the anime type where you have some magical girls assisted by little critters. In this one, it's the little critters who are magical, and the human beings are the ones assisting them. But what didn't change is that all the characters are really cute, as befits a magical girl series. Quote

Deep Blue Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I cried a bit around the end. It was quite the adventure. I miss Migi already Also started watching Milky Holmes. God help me. yep that was a sad and yet an amazing ending migi was so freaking awesome, I will miss him too Quote
Nosebleed Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 So you're saying that Nisekoi second season will be just boring fillers? *sigh* I guess I'll just watch it for the opening song.Well, to be frank, stuff does happen. There's new characters and some fun arcs that develop them. The problem is that none of it is relevant because after the major arcs they just reinforce the status quo again so it makes it feel pointless. I absolutely love Haru, and i think people who watch season 2 will as well, she was such a fun addition to the cast and had 2 really good arcs, but look at her now, barely relevant to anything, cast in the background. And what's worse is the fact that the whole locket plot thing never appears again until like 100 chapters later so season 2 will really mostly be about fooling around. And even when they bring up the locket they always manage to dodge it the next chapter and go back to normality for another 50 chapters. So while Nisekoi is really fun as a romcom, its story is a terrible vicious cycle. But i wouldn't discourage people from it, i think it has entertainment value, otherwise i wouldn't have read 164 chapters. But to expect Nisekoi to conclude anything is to dream big So yeah, i think season 2 will be fun, but it won't go anywhere, that's for sure. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Decided to do some baking. Lots of time in the kitchen means lots of time to watch something random from Funimation's streaming site, so I decided to watch A Certain Magical Index: The Miracle of Endymion. I accidentally had my first experience with idol shows. I didn't dislike it, per se, but it definitely wasn't on par with any of the better arcs in the regular series. The new character of Shutaura was interesting, and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing her around more, but the rest of the new characters were pretty boring (especially Arisa, who I really wanted to like, but for some reason just didn't click). In general, I tend to like the Railgun stories a lot more, with the complete absence of the magical side, and this one had heavy involvement of both (more magic than espers, probably). If I evaluate this against just the Index stories, the movie is probably a little above average - though that puts it well below most of the Railgun and Railgun S episodes. I especially didn't care for the music. Given the big focus on music in the movie, this is pretty disappointing, but even moreso because I generally love music and don't have particularly picky tastes - I'll listen to pretty much anything and enjoy it. I did not enjoy the English-dubbed original songs. They frankly just sounded... kinda bad. I don't have perfect pitch or anything, but there were definitely some sour notes. The power wasn't there, and the production side wasn't the strongest either. Props for trying, but ... maybe they should just subtitle the songs next time. Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Watched Sengoku Basara: Last Party and it delivered on the over the top crazy take on the Sengoku period I've come to love about this series, and boy does Johny Young Bosch turn in a stand out performance as Yukimura, probably the most over the top performance I've heard from him since Vash...which is kind of ironic seeing as Yukimura also wears red Quote
nohman Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Finished Baby Steps, picked up Uchuu Kyoudai. I'm up to episode 25 and holy fuck, do I really like this show! The pacing, humor, characters, setting - everything is just fantastic. This is looking to become a favorite of mine. Quote

GetterEmperor Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I really liked Uchuu Kyoudai. It was a lot longer than I expected it to be. Currently still on episode 47 though so I need to resume sometime. Quote
chocoberry Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I finished watching Seiken tsukai no world break today. This show was so bad that it kept entertaining me. XD And I've just seen 23th ep of Cross Ange, I will probably finish this anime tomorrow. Daaaamn I'm going to miss this show. Quote
Jibril Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 In a slice of life moe mood, decided to start Kiniro Mosaic. Finished first episode, honestly did not expect that much engrish. Looks good so far. Quote

SanadaShadow Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Recently (very recently), I've finished: Isekai No Seikishi Monogatari Working!! Chuunibyou Watamote Mirai Nikki Ichigo 100% and B-Gata H-Kei Of those, The best ones were: Working!! (I really have no faults to find in the anime, it was executed near perfectly, had the underlying story of love and complexes but never compromised on jokes) Mirai Nikki (explained story well, had interesting developments, OVA was an important part of the story, the perfect ending) and (I disappoint myself when I admit this, but) Ichigo 100% (its beauty was not there initially, with the girls falling in love for no reason, but the beauty of it was in their interactions with each other, they just seemed so much more right somehow). Middling were: Isekai No Seikishi Monogatari (relied too much on sex appeal, not enough on story) and Watamote (never got anywhere with the story, MC never changed majorly, even with help. However, the point of the story was simply to make fun of that fact, so it's somewhat forgivable). And the most horrible ones were: Chuunibyou (I make it a point to keep in mind that if you start with a comedic atmosphere, you have to KEEP that atmosphere rather than throw it out when a tiny bit of serious story finally makes it in. The writers did not balance properly, in my opinion) and B-Gata H-Kei ((Yamada=Watamote) girl in that they don't want to change despite wanting to change. I can understand the problem, but if you're so determined, then please just change AT LEAST by the end of the anime! Also, while Watamote was just making fun of the unpopular girl, Yamada's story is about finding love within her mindless ambition, not about poking fun at Yamada's idiocy (that's only the secondary goal). By the end, yes, they do somewhat show them being lovey-dovey, but I get the feeling that nothing has really changed since the beginning, as if I've wasted my time. I don't like that, and I almost never feel that way about anime, so I really hate this one for having such a good base and building it up only to never have it knocked down, and you know that feeling too). Right now, I'm watching: Hayate No Gotoku Kaichou Wa Maid-sama Full Metal Panic! FMP! gets a huge lead because Fumoffu!. I didn't like how they juggled around the normal life comedy and super-serious murder SRT (Super Robot Taisen, not Special Response Team) segments, because they kept showing Chidori wandering soullessly across the beach while Sagara fought off ten guys halfway across the world. Hayate No Gotoku is no masterpiece, but it deserves honorary mention. It's silly, it's weird, it's erratic, but it's funny and it doesn't forget what it is in its essence. Lol Duel Butler VS Combat Butler. Kaichou Wa Maid-sama, I must analyze in greater detail before giving a midpoint review. It's commendable that you've read this far. Thank you for wasting your time on this post, it means a lot to me. Quote
FinalChaos Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Started watching Akame ga Kill It's good and I'm enjoying it right now. It does have some flaws and isn't amazing but it's fun nonetheless. Quote
DavidA. Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Am I the only one who's sometimes afraid to watch the end of a series because you'll know you'll feel dead inside once it's over? Anywho, one of the series I'm watching now is Parasyte. It's been extremely popular now, so I'm sure most of you are familiar with it. In my opinion, the writing was phenomenal. Thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Quote
Kosakyun Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Just finished the first season of Nisekoi. I have no idea why I'm loving it - besides Shaft - but I sure can't wait for the second season. Glad to hear that, filler friend! Quote
Turnip Sensei Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I watched today the first 14 episodes of Eureka Seven. I'm not sure what to think about the show yet, but at least I had fun watching it. But man the second opening is amazing, I have soft spot for J-rap. Quote
