Thomas Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 (edited) I'm revisiting Seitokai Yakuindomo, this anime is just hilarious! Really need the 3rd season of this anime (you hear that GoHands, now make it happen) Edited March 6, 2018 by Thomas Mr Poltroon 1 Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 I love Gugure Kokkuri-san to bits. It's my kind of humour. Deadpan delivery to the max. Quote

Spoiler @ThomasMust say I couldn't stand the second season. It felt like they were reusing every single joke from the first season... Also, yesterday I decided to finally finish Silver Spoon. So I downloaded both seasons... and marathoned them in the afternoon. Edited March 8, 2018 by Jun Inoue Mr Poltroon 1 Quote
DarkZedge Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 I'm currently watching: Mahou Tsukai no Yome, Dagashi Kashi S2, Killing Bites, Violet Evergarden, BEATLESS, Citrus, Toji no Miko, Darling in the Frankxx, all of them currently airing. However I do have some stalled ones from previous seasons that I have yet to continue. Quote
Happiness+ Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 I am watching Citrus because it's a true yuri. I convinced some of my normie friends to watch Violet Evergarden with me every week I usually cycle through weekly shows. I will binge on bakemenogatri, D.Gray Man, and maybe Ghost in the Shell Second GiG. Quote
ittaku Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Just rewatched A Silent Voice. What a great film. I cried more this time aroundThere was a lot of dust getting into my eyes during this watching. Quote
ittaku Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Finished watching Polar Bear's Cafe. Kids loved it. It remained very relaxed, harmless, and pointless right to the end. Did the same thing with Flying Witch - I never thought much of this the first time around but kids loved it again and it was pretty much the same as PBC. Watched the No Game No Life Zero movie. It was pretty good but not exactly awesome. Looked great and had a few very enjoyable moments. Mandatory watching for any fan of the series, but being backstory there's very little of the characters from the original. Quote

Dergonu Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Finished watching Konohana Kitan. I was expecting pure fluff, and got hit right in the feels instead. Was not prepared / 10. Ugh, man, especially episode 8. Muh feels. ittaku and Plk_Lesiak 2 Quote

DarkZedge Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Decided to start watching Ookami-san and am currently on episode 6. Pretty legit so far more so than I expected Quote
Plk_Lesiak Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 (edited) I've just finished Hand Shakers, intrigued by @ittaku's anti-recommendation. And boy, it did deliver in so many ways! Barfy animations with weird, motion-sickness-inducing perspective, horrible CGI, over-the-top, tropy characters, nonsense motivations, etc, etc. The wannabe idol character was one the most horrifying things I've seen in anime recently, especially when the animators tried to show her "dancing". Oh, and random BDSM in the first episode. And the main characters having to hold hands all the time during the first few episodes, even on the toilet. Brilliant. If anyone can't tell by this point, I really like over-the-top, horrible anime. Most bad anime are just extremely boring harem/ecchi stuff though. But I'll always remember Hand Shakers as one of those rare, genuinely amusing disasters. <3 EDIT: Oh, and the opening song has a bit of charm to it. You'll be hard pressed to ever find anything that shit again. I think the only thing in anime I've ever rated lower was Peeping Life which I couldn't even sit through one episode of, but that never had high aspirations whereas Hand Shakers did. What a legend. Darklord Rooke Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Fune wo amu. It's pretty great, but slow. If you don't like slow stuff then you won't like this show. But unlike most slice of life visual novels this aniime is always building, slowly, purposefully, instead of just mucking around. It's quietly reflective, it wants you to ponder. It's just my kind of anime, through and through and I love it. To be honest I'm a little tired of the over the top antics in most anime. That this anime was based off a novel probably helped greatly in this aspect. There's a realism to it. Quote
Darklord Rooke Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Just bought the novel on the Kindle. Luckily for me it's been translated :3 Quote

Shit, I'm probably gonna end up watching it during Spring break, lol. Have you watched K by any chance? I know the animation wasn't the most popular among hardened critics, but I thought it was somewhat appealing. Or is it a lot worse with this one? Quote

Haven't seen it, but Hand Shakers is really the bottom of the barrel among the shows that seriously tried to tell a story and create some emotional reaction among the viewers, it's hard to even get on a similar levels of terribleness. The are contenders though. My next position on the list of horrible anime to watch when I don't feel like doing anything even marginally productive is Netsuzou TRap, the worst yuri in history of anime according to MAL. Quote
bakauchuujin Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 (edited) If you are looking for shitty anime, I gues you should look at hentai. Poor art, very limited animation, hollow characters and little to no story. I would start with Imopara, they really messed up that adaptation, looks just horrifyingly bad. But that's the point, usually Hentai don't try to be anything more than straight-up porn, so it has much less ability to fail epicly. And I don't like hentai porn, so it would just be boring, unless it has good comedy or is completely outlandish in its themes. Quote

Well mostly my comment was about how it just had horrible art and animation making it bad porn material. The story and characters is something I wrote in to also say they don't have redeeming qualities, atleast the majority of hentai. There are some few exeptions of actually good hentai, but most are shit no matter how you look at it. Edited March 19, 2018 by bakauchuujin Quote

They're clearly hentai but with infinitely better execution than Hand Shakers. They're actually a good watch and were so good that they decided to make a TV series out of the story (alas without the hentai.) Quote

An oldie, but if outlandish themes is what is wanted, then it's hard to pass over it. Plk_Lesiak and ittaku 1 1 Quote
milkteebaby Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 I'm watching Violet Evergarden. Every Thursday, I can be counted on to bawl my eyes out and this week was definitely no exception. Usually, I despise shows like this as I find tearjerkers to be the lowest of the low when eliciting emotion, but this show...man, it really got to me. Thyndd and Mr Poltroon 2 Quote
