Nosebleed Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Watching Mayo Chiki. I am enjoying it a lot. But I suspect a boring cliffhanger without a true end sadly. Mayo Chiki's ending is actually not that inconclusive, though it's no spectacular conclusion, but it was nice. Quote

Desert35 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Began Toradora yesterday it's not bad I find it quite funny ^^ Quote
Eclipsed Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Noragami's going on hold (Currently Ep 4) cuz Yukine is voiced by the same VA that did Haruyuki in Accel World and gawd I want a break from that wimpy voice for at least 10 years pls. The VA *can* sound normal (he also voices Rentaro in Black Bullet) but wimpy males no pls Bakemonogatari's also going on hold (Currently Ep 4) cuz although the banter b/w Koyomi & Hitagi is golden I'm not really in the mood for lengthy dialogue atm (this seems to be one of the highlights of this show based on the reviews) so I'll get back to it later. ~~~ And so I finished Kyoukai no Kanata~ Even though the synopsis labels it as a "dark fantasy" the overall tone is pretty light even when there are world-ending shenanigans going on (ie. you never really feel a sense of urgency, despair or hopelessness/you just know everything will work out okay). There were some people who disliked this, but I enjoyed it. Akihito gets +2 for having a glasses fetish I watched Strike the Blood before this, so Mirai reminded me of Yukina (same VA, both are female leads who are younger than the male lead (aka call him Senpai) & belittle his perverted comments, and both are capable fighters/swords(wo)man) Episode 6 was my favorite episode~ Priceless. Yukine feels a bit annoying sometimes but in return we get a great character development for him. And as you must have noticed the sound and art for Noragami are spectacular. Quote
havoc Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 currently watching horizon in the middle of nowhere. 4 eps in and still now idea what the fuck is actually going on. So can someone help me and explain what is going on? Quote
Nobuki Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Currently watching Isshuukan Friends and after that I plan to watch Mayoi Neko Overrun. Damn, I'm running out of good romance animes. Quote
nohman Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Begin watching Psycho-Pass. I'm up to episode 5. Don't think I'll end up disappointed. The dominators are a pretty cool piece of sci-fi, if you ignore how impractical they would be. Also watched another episode of Kill la Kill and finished off S1 of Yowapeda a couple of days ago. EDIT: aaaand it just turned into Kara no Shoujo. Quote
Eclipsed Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru, up to beginning of Ep. 3. Wow, during the first 10 minutes of Episode 1 and without looking at the synopsis+genre you'd think this would be purely another slice-of-life about four cute schoolgirls living out their everyday lives, but then nope the MAGIC happens Quote
Ezeefreak Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Finished Tamako Market a few Days ago. Like K-On that thing have exactly the right dose of SoL for me to not get bored and enjoy the show. It is nothing what I would call awesome, but it is light hearted and fun to watch. The movie was also great, but a little bit different from the genre. But more romance is never bad ... Now watching Shinsekai Yori for the club and after that something i'll enjoy Quote

It was listed as a Slice of Life and gave no hint of magic. Suddenly, time stopped, and I was just like... this is going to be good! Quote

SilverLi Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Finished Mayo Chiki. It was really good actually and they got a decent ending although I wanted more. But damn so many scenes are memes today. -.- Quote

But damn so many scenes are memes today. -.- Told you the ending wasn't that bad. If you want something similar to Mayo Chiki, I recommend Kotoura-san. The vibes I got from the two were somewhat similar and the romantic plot kind of heads in the same direction. And of course they're both pretty fun. Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Watching Joshiraku. This is literally the most Japanese show in existence. I'm glad i'm watching it now and not some years ago because i wouldn't have gotten 90% of the jokes or the format of the show. It's definitely a very specific type of comedy but personally i can get behind it. So far so fun~ Quote
Ceris Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I legit thought the episode I downloaded was corrupted when that happened -_- I was watching Crunchyroll on my Xbox and I had to make sure my console didn't freeze/video wasn't messing up. I was like... what? Quote

I picked up Golden Time for now. 4 episodes watched yesterday. Of course the MC got a childhood friend which is a senpai Quote

Ceris Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Nope, it was your cliche "sitting in class then time stops moving, MCs all can though", right in the first episode. I don't think that would warrant a spoiler tag because of it just being the first episode Quote

TehRealOne Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Interesting. Might give it a try. Thanks~ Same here, even though its listed as Slice of Life. Does it actually have a plot/storyline? Quote
Ceris Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 The anime jumps between genre during the episodes. Some parts will the SoL, then stuff goes down, and it turns into fantasy/action, then goes back to being SoL when stuff calms down. And yes, it's plot driven and develops as it goes along. The best comparison I can make for Yuuki Yuuna is a less dark Madoka Magica because of the lighthearted SoL stuff throughout, but not exactly light all the way through either. Eclipsed, I need your opinion on episode 9 when you get to it, the 2nd half of that episode of one of my favorite scenes in all of anime now. This post will probably be buried by the time you reach it, but if it isn't (or you come back to it) this is the scene I am talking about+~2min before Legit spoilers, seriously, the thumbnail's subtitle is spoiler enough Quote

A less dark version of madoka magica? So its just the mahou shoujo part? Quote
Ceris Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I won't comment on the plot for spoiler reasons. But more in common than just being a magical girl anime, as "less dark" doesn't exactly mean light. Quote

Definitely seems like something I will check out. Quote
