Fred the Barber Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Fairy Tail and Naruto are about the only Shonen I enjoy, and even with those I can only watch so much before I'd rather be watching something more feels-oriented. I've never really given One Piece a fair chance, though, but I don't think I can sign myself up for something with that ridiculous an episode count, especially when I still have dozens of short shows which have a much more chance of being to my taste waiting in the wings. It's a simple cost-benefit analysis. Shonen isn't for everybody, and even setting that aside, I just don't have the time to watch everything I'd like to (even if I do inexplicably make the time to read and post regularly on Fuwa ) Quote
Stray Cat Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Wahh? Not even DB, Hunter x Hunter, Bleach, Naruto, Katekyo Hitman Reborn (amazing), etc? DB was ok. I'll watch HunterxHunter never at some point. Bleach is terrible and Naruto was good but shippuden ruined it. Haven't seen the last one. Quote
blahblahblahxxx Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 DB was ok. I'll watch HunterxHunter never at some point. Bleach is terrible and Naruto was good but shippuden ruined it. Haven't seen the last one. Bwahaha I actually haven't seen any of those except Dragon Ball and Reborn. But Reborn is suchh a good anime. You should check it out at least. The plot is really original, at least as far as I know. Quote
Nosebleed Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Stop whatever you might be doing and watch Hunter x Hunter. Trust me, you will be thankful. Finished Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. I feel like the quality dropped a little but the humor was still there so it was fine. I've grown fond of this despite not thinking it's excelling, but it's a good time killer for me. Onto Goku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei~ Boy how i love shows with more than 2 seasons. After this i shall finally watch the 2nd season of Arakawa Under The Bridge. Quote

Nosebleed Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 No watch Reborn first! >B-but I read the manga Quote
blahblahblahxxx Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 B-but I read the manga Well okay then. That's good enough. I'll watch HunterxHunter then... IF you thought Lambo was adorbs! Quote
Quark Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 If you haven't already, you should watch Another. It's a psychological horror like Mirai Nikki, but better imo. Plus, the ending was a major mind f*ck. It will make you blow up, so make sure you bring a mop so you can clean up your brains. Seen it and liked it, thanks. I personally liked Mirai Nikki better, but I still liked Another. We need more psychological horror anime! Any other reccomendations? I'd prefer them not to be overtly supernatural. (ex. Shiki, Ghost Hunt) Quote

And I just recently watched Corpse Party: Tortured Souls, which was nice if you like looking at a butt ton of intestines. So you can try that one if you want. Quote

Any other reccomendations? I'd prefer them not to be overtly supernatural. (ex. Shiki, Ghost Hunt) There aren't many psychological horror anime since it kinda has to spread out to a wide audience. I remember I saw a list of the top goriest anime and it had a bunch of old anime I've never heard of but looked freaky as hell. You're better off reading some manga or VN's, though I think Gantz might be what you're looking for Quote
Kosakyun Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Finished Himegoto. Genuinely sad. H-How will I see Hime-kun again!? Started watching Akame Ga Kill. 8 episodes in, and it's still fine as is. I'm waiting for my rekt train. Also, Ai Tenchi Muyo's starting to make sense. Quote
Nosebleed Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Finished Himegoto. Genuinely sad. H-How will I see Hime-kun again!? There's 3 different manga serializations for Himegoto, you can always get your daily dose of traps from there. Quote

RinXD Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I am watching Shokugeki no Souma and Seraph of the End right now as most of the series this anime season are kinda meh except for Plastic Memories but im not ready for another feels trip so soon after Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. Quote

Kosakyun Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Dammit. Just dammit. Ugh. Ugh. It had so much more potential. x_X I'm just enjoying it while it's still good. Dunno what I'll feel when I finally get rekt. Quote
Nosebleed Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I'm just enjoying it while it's still good. Dunno what I'll feel when I finally get rekt. That episode 19... That's when it all changed... Quote
Cythnar Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 That episode 19... That's when it all changed... The level of sadness, the level of sadness. Quote
Kosakyun Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 That episode 19... That's when it all changed... I'll probably drop it when Mine dies. I have no reason to watch it anymore if Mine dies. I need to see that revised ending. Quote
RinXD Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I'm just enjoying it while it's still good. Dunno what I'll feel when I finally get rekt. You're better off just reading the manga Akame ga kill pulls a Claymore and takes a left turn into wtf Quote
Kosakyun Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 You're better off just reading the manga Akame ga kill pulls a Claymore and takes a left turn into wtf I'm updated. I just want to see where it all went wrong. Apparently it's in Episode 19. Quote
Stray Cat Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 The ending wasn't bad IMO, but it wasn't good either. Still, wasted potential. Quote
RinXD Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I'm updated. I just want to see where it all went wrong. Apparently it's in Episode 19. Well at the time of episode 19 the anime had passed the manga so all of it from that point on was original story Quote
Nosebleed Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 The anime followed the manga closely and nicely up to episode 18, then it went apeshit rushing faster than a gorilla on drugs piloting a train and then we got... whatever the hell the ending to Akame ga Kill was. Quote
Soulless Watcher Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Cowboy Bebop wasn't really scifi though, I mean I guess it is, but it lacked this quality of being scifi, at least for me. If anything scifi would be a secondary genre with adventure being a primary one. Either way, how did you like what is probably considered by many the best anime of the previous century? Yeah, having watched 2/3 of the show, at this posts' time, I suppose it qualifies more as a science fantasy for me. Taking place in a future technological advance world in which none of the technology is explained like Starwars and Doctor Who. Genre pedantics aside, so far I'm really enjoying the ride. What struck me most about Bebop was how it showed what the characters were thinking, not through forced voiced inner monologues (for the most part), but through their facial expressions and actions. It is probably a weird thing to focus on. There are some issues I have with some of the stories, nothing that completely ruined the experience for me, but it was enough to disrupt the immersion of the series temporarily. Also, how they change the music of each episode to reflect a different genere is wicked cool. Quote
