[SOLVED] Cross Channel "cchook" Error

Hey there - I've been trying to run Cross Channel on my computer.

 

After I download it, I attempt to run it, to which I get an error stating that "cchook is not compatible with your computer." The file is then removed from my computer, leaving me unable to try again. If I try to run Cross Channel again, it states that "the program can't start because cchook is missing from your computer."

 

I use a Windows 8 Computer, for reference. I've tried redownloading several times, as well as switching files off of read only. Is my computer just not able to run this VN or is there something I'm doing wrong?

This sounds like your antivirus might be scanning it as you run it and immediately deleting it. Try redownloading it again and temporarily turning off your antivirus' file protection before you run it (don't forget to turn it back on afterwards!).
