randylek Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Looking for anything particularly good in general, but I have a heavy preference towards that was made in recent times (roughly 2010 onwards) similar to the likes of rewrite or grisaia. I am easily put off by older looking VNs with a few exceptional exceptions (gsenjou, clannad, little busters etc) Quote

And by recent I'm sure you mean it has good art. Try Grisaia in that case. You might as well check out Kaguya's 50 VNs you should read before you die https://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/2151-50-translated-vns-you-should-read-before-you-die/ Quote
Diamon Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 On top of my head, I'd say Comyu and Cho dengeki stryker who are both fairly recent (2009 and 2011 respectively). Props for Dengeki having awesome animated sequences, even though the art is not outstanding (still fairly acceptable). I remember comyu having nice art as well, even though not on the level of grisaia for example. You could also try Steins;Gate even though the art style is a bit... Special (very waterpainting style) Quote

Zalor Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Can you read untranslated Visual novels? If you can (or if you're willing to try) than there should be plenty of options to pick from. One VN from 2011 that I'm interested in is 穢翼のユースティア (Aiyoku no Eustia). You can see the opening of the VN inside the spoiler: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJjkBXRMcxs Quote
