Stray Cat Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I can preorder a version that comes with a full soundtrack? Why, Amazon? Why can I not preorder my box of shit through you yet? http://www.play-asia.com/persona-4-dancing-all-night-crazy-value-pack-paOS-13-49-en-70-8k53.html Quote
Quark Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 So I bought all of the games (Persona 1, 2(parts 1 and 2) and P3P on PSN for Vita and the physical edition of 4: Golden), tried starting with Persona 1, and was, put off, to say the least. Is it something I can come back to? I really want to play them in order though. Should I push myself through them? I know there are multiple endings and I am a huge completionist. Quote

Persona 1 and Persona 2 are almost different series compared to Persona 3 and 4. The first two games have only the basic ideas in common with latter ones, the stories are not tied. I suggest starting with 3 and 4. They are more story focused, and much easier to get into. I personally went from 3>4>2:IS>1. Quote
Stray Cat Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I went 4 to 2:IS to 3. IMO, one is a terrible game and shouldn't even be bothered with. 2 at least picks up with the story mechanics but the gameplay is just any old RPG. 3 and 4 are amazing. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I started playing Persona 1 years ago because of the PSP re-release at a time while I was looking for portable games. I found it really boring and put it down, and it then took a lot of coaxing for me to give the series another try. 1.5 years ago I played P4G, which I adore, and then half a year ago P3P, which is also amazing. So, I can at least assure you that playing those two, in that order, will likely still be a great experience, even though you didn't enjoy Persona. http://www.play-asia.com/persona-4-dancing-all-night-crazy-value-pack-paOS-13-49-en-70-8k53.html Quote
Stray Cat Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 They'll probably release a bonus version here. I mean it's Atlus after all. Quote
Quark Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Okay, so I guess best way to go then is 3>4>1>2? I thought 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 were supposed to be connected, 1 and 2 heavily? I am so overthinking this haha I just need to keep away from Persona things on the internet and jump in. I started a few years ago with Devil Survivor, bought Overclocked about a year ago, got about halfway through I think and heavily stalled. Quote
Stray Cat Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 If you're starting with portable I'd say 3 is fine to start with. Otherwise 4 is good too. 1 and 2 are kinda connected and nothing like the other two games. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Yeah, you really can't go wrong with 3 Portable and 4 Golden. Just go for it. Quote
miria Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Expecting P5 most likely for Nov~Dec 2015, if not then, 1st Qtr 2016, before the 2015 fiscal year ends. Quote

miria Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 P5 listed as a Spring/Summer release in latest Playstation Japan lineup video Quote
Stray Cat Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Not that I can read the Japanese but it said "coming after" before it right? Which means after Spring/Summer to me. Also, this only further's my Tokyo Xandu hype. Quote
Kurisu-Chan Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I just love how the story gets more and more interesting. Quote

Turnip Sensei Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I just love how the story gets more and more interesting. What month are you playing? But it's true that that the story gets really going after the Yakushima. Quote
Turnip Sensei Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 A dog, really? meh... Nah, Koro is amazing, except in battle. I felt like he's the most useless party member in the whole game. Quote

Turnip Sensei Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 More useless than Yukari? lol. What!? How? Yukari is super useful, she's awesome healer and her magic hits hard. She's second best party member after Mitsuru. But Koro is just kind of bad version of Junpei, and Junpei isn't that great either. Quote
Stray Cat Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I don't think you really need spoilers for that. Koro is consistently terrible, just like his counterpart. My party was consistently MC, Yukari, Mitsuru and Junpei/Shinji. Quote
Yeah Way Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Aki, Ken, and Aigis for me. Who needs heals when you have buffs and revives? I always liked to handle party-healing myself. The AI is just so bad. I could only rely on Ken or Aki to heal when someone was near death. Yukari is useless. Quote

I always used the main character as nuker. Power/Mind Charge + strongest attack I had was the most satisfying way to play. Quote
