Codesterz Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 In my recent bordom and because I have run out of english translated visual novels to read that look interensting, I have started to use Visual Novel Reader. I have 3 different machine translations being shown to help decipher the horrible english. What I was wondering is if I were to play the chinese translations for a Visual Novel would the machine translation to english be more readible? A visual novel such as Hatsuyuki Sakura which does not have an english translation, but does have a simplified chinese translation. This is a question about readabiity in english not translation accuracy. Quote
Cryptah Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 There is some good tranlators from Chinese to english, but for god sake dont use google or bing translators.... Too bad i cannot remember the chinese translator website anymore.... Quote
edwd2 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Yea, actually chinese to english should be more direct in terms of sentence structure, there's also a lower chance that the machine translator will misinterpret terms. But Hatsuyuki Sakura's chinese translation does suffer from a couple of errors here and there, shouldn't be a big deal though. Quote
