Silvz Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 So, what I mean is: I'd like to read some VN's with cute character's art [and personalities] and a good plot. Not necessarily sci fi, but a game that doesn't focus only on romance/getting the girl, but that also worth it the reading. I don't want Key stuff because I'll alread read everything from Key - not now, but I will, so you don't need to recommend that haha Quote

Clephas Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 If you excise the stupid parts of the common route (the pointless wandering, the seed-planting, etc), there are actually a few VNs similar to it... in terms that they meld a fantasy/chuunige with slice-of-life. Examples include Bloody Rondo, Rui wa Tomo wo Yobu (though it isn't quite a chuunige), Tenshi no Hane wo Fumanaide, and others... Silvz 1 Quote
Kimanor Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Coμ - Kuroi Ryuu to Yasashii Oukoku -? Comyu is the first thing that comes to mind. It's a little darker overall compared to Rewrite, but it's definitely a good read. Translated by the same group that translated Rewrite as well (Amaterasu translations). Silvz and SoulJustIn 2 Quote
Silvz Posted February 7, 2015 Author Posted February 7, 2015 Comyu is one that I intend to read, but only after eden* Clephas, any of those are translated? I can't read japanese [yet] Quote
Decay Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 You basically want chuuni or chuuni-esque games. Try also Ayakashibito. It has more slice-of-life scenes than Comyu. Fate/stay night could maybe qualify but its art style is kind of meh and it may not be moe enough for you. It's not chuuni, but g-senjou no maou has some slice of life and romance mixed in with a larger overall plot. Other than this, there really isn't much in the genre that's translated to english, unfortunately. Suzu Fanatic and Silvz 2 Quote
Clephas Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I was thinking he wanted moe-style art, combined with chuuni-ish story and slice-of-life... Moe-style art isn't hard to find, but Ayakashibito really isn't moe from a visual perspective (though most people find Tonya and Suzu cute). Quote

(ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ For me Rewrite was quite unique, even though i have played 2 other games from Key Visual Arts. I'd think it would be hard to find something that so seamlessly blends well-done elements of a good visual novel, like the hilarious slice of life, intense action, the right amount of drama and the bits that make you cry like a baby. starlessn1ght 1 Quote

Eh, I figure Ayakashibito blends the moe/slice of life thing with chuuni more so than most chuuni. At least, when you look at the selection available in english. It's probably the closest thing to Rewrite currently in english, albeit with a darker tone once they hit the routes Quote
