Eclipsed Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I just noticed:http://imgur.com/blog/2015/02/09/imgur-pro-for-everyone/ To celebrate Imgur's sixth anniversary they have decided to make Imgur Pro free for everybody Here's all the things you can do with an Imgur account: Store an unlimited number of images in your account Receive multiple thumbnail options on all uploads Access complete image analytics and referrer data Manage, edit or delete any uploaded image at any time Interact with the awesome Imgur community through commenting, voting and sharing ~~~ No more 225 image cap = no more micromanaging albums CLuBLioN 1 Quote
Zodai Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Couldn't we already upvote and comment anyway? Why is that a listed feature o_O Quote
CLuBLioN Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 YES YES YES YES I have over 700 hundred pictures stored for my videos so this is the best news all day for me Quote
Tay Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I really want to learn more about how imgur is managed. They have a pretty interesting story, and I'm interested to know where this decision came from. And what revenues/investment returns are compensating for this move. Quote
Fiddle Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Yay, some stuff that already existed and some stuff that previously existed but they conveniently left out! That's my favorite kind of stuff and not-stuff respectively! Quote
Eclipsed Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 Supposedly ads. I'm guessing given Imgur's popularity, removing the 225 image cap will allow them to attract more people = more ad revenue. ~~ Lel, that list of features was my bad guys. Context! They were describing all the features that come with Imgur account now, not just Pro features. Quote
sirjabberwock Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I just checked my imgur and realized I've been missing a lot of my old pictures because of the cap, oops xD Quote
Keaton Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Interesting maybe I will have to use something that uploads to imgur now instead of puush. Quote
Ceris Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Well, time to find out what's buried down there, sitting at 1500 images Oh wait, it's like hundreds of fanart images of Love Live that I can view at any time :makina: Quote
Kimanor Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Hurah! I can finally upload every single frame in Naruto! Quote
SoulJustIn Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Store an unlimited number of images in your account Quote
Nayleen Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Truly amazing, just the other day I was considering going Pro to store my picture library there, just like I'm already doing with my documents on Google Drive. Quote
Kendjin Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I'm annoyed. Had pro. Don't mind ads, but I worry we'll start to lose functions. Also I think ads only affect people that use imgur like reddit. Quote
Kelebek1 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I wish they'd fix the crash that came in in their last update. If I try to use the "browse" option to upload an image, after selecting the pic, Firefox will crash 100% of the time. The only way I can upload a pic now is by dragging and dropping it onto that frame. Incredibly annoying, and makes uploading more than 1 pic awfully slow. I don't know what they did to make FF crash, but it's pretty annoying. Quote
