How do I disable furigana while using Visual Novel Reader?

So I've been reading untranslated visual novels over the last 2 months.  It's been slow but I feel like I've gotten a lot better & my vocab and kanji recognition has been improving significantly.

 

I realized that having furigana above kanji makes me subconsciously read the furigana instead of the kanji.  This was fine in the beginning because I read relatively slowly.  Now that I'm reading faster, it's a problem as I end up subconsciously skipping over the kanji and just reading the furigana.

 

So, is there any way I can disable the furigana WITHOUT losing the ability to click on a kanji I don't recognize to see the definition?
