Trying to instal VN

So I have the Majikoi discs (actually ordered the game from Japan) but that shouldn't change much considering downloading the game is essentially mounting a disc version on your comp, but when I try to run the setup, I get a little through the installation and then I get an error popup (the only thing understandable is the word config in all the gibberish.  I tried language and region setup as Japanese so I don't think that is the issue, but I was wondering if my comp being a windows 8 os would be the problem, and if so if anyone knew any workarounds.

have you changed your computer locale to japanese that may be essential

I think I have done that, but do you know where that would be so I can doublecheck?

your on windows 8 you'd need to google i am running windows 7 which is vastly diffrent

Yeah you were right, my problem was I was changing the region (which makes navigating the computer nearly impossible) rather than Locale, thanks a bunch man.

That sounds really good if you want to learn japanese...the hard way

there is the hard way, then there is the masochistic way... learning kanji by changing your comp region is probably in the latter category.
