Satsuki Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I'm on Easter holiday, so 7-8h per day to me. Though I get distracted a lot Quote
Nimbus Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Speaking of Ayaka's route...... in regards to the H-scenes, for the most part i enjoyed them but I felt they could've been separated a bit more. by the third one I was getting pretty sick of all the sex scenes, especially given when they stated doing it public. At that point I just thought to myself "for God's sake guys just get on with it!" ("It" being the story). Quote
Eclipsed Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Gosh darnit everybody's reading & talking about Ayaka's route I won't get to hers until next week Quote
mitchhamilton Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Thats to bad. because its sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. Why is it taking you so long? Quote

Tesla Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I'm gonna have to add to the Ayaka posts and say that she is my favorite from the ones who own a route. seriously no Ruriko route? With the whole reveal about her being a full blooded sister instead of a half honestly blew my mind. Then her development from a carefree jokster to someone who wants to try to make the most of her time put her over the top for me. Couple issues I had with PE: The routes started feeling way too repetitive, honestly I was loosing interest in finishing as I went along the routes. It was too formulaic for my taste. I also feel like Masaya's fire trauma was a missed opportunity, it just ended without feeling like it should have. I mean come on you don't get over a trauma that affected you that hard just because you remember what caused it. Or maybe you do I don't know, but they could have had a heroine try to help him get over it which would lead them to get closer to each other. Quote
mitchhamilton Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 @Tesla some people can get over their trauma by just remembering it. sometimes its like with masaya where the person goes "Oh thats what caused it? Then I guess its not that bad." i had a sub conscious trauma that caused me to wet the bed until i was 16 and once i realized what it was i stopped. also about the routes being repetitive i agree. its not terribly bad but it can get annoying seeing masaya's reaction to some events for the first time over and over again. then have them explained over and over again. I mean I had a minor trauma where I couldn't go near a dog after I was attacked by one but that kinda went away over time. Guess I learn something new everyday. Quote
mitchhamilton Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 with yours you knew the direct cause that made you so afraid. which is why, even if you knew why you were scared, you still couldnt get over it right away. with me and masaya it was subconscious. we just needed to know why we were afraid. i feel weird about the fact that im identifying with a visual novel character. They kinda pulled the rug out from underneath me with Ayaka, I assumed her route would be about her becoming more promiscuous and confronting her mother about it so I was pleasantly surprised by the real issues. The fire trauma was indeed a missed opportunity (though I'm still doing Rise's route and haven't begun Chiho's so maybe it's explored more there. Quote
AlexZandria Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 touché @nimbus good to hear you are enjoying Princess Evangile enough to consider it a potential favorite. Indeed, the 'only 4 heroines despite being tons of potential for other side characters' is probably one of my biggest gripes with this VN. @mitch THE HOOKS! LOOK AT THE HOOKS! Not only that look at her hand position on the first one both are wrong. In that first image she has the hook between the fingers but in the mirror she has her hand to the side. Quote
Decay Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 @Dice & mitch (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ @Nimbus Princess Evangile is long. Decay said it neared Grisaia no Kajitsu levels in terms of length(?). I also spend only a couple hours a day to read; so far it takes me almost a week per route. I said that the common route and the heroine routes are about the same length as the ones from GnK, the difference is that there is one less route in PE so it's shorter overall. It's seriously long, though. I managed to finish it in like... a week and a half, maybe? I remember I finished Grisaia in like six days. I guess I didn't have much else to do back then. Quote
KurodaTsubasa Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Seriously, I have to admit that this VN is really long. This is my 3rd day reading it, and I am still on Ritsuko's Route. To be more precise, I am on Chapter... 24. Quote
Abyssal Monkey Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 The Ritsuko moe is incredibly strong in this one. I'm actually really enjoying things so far. Now to moan and complain about two characters. Marika the president was extremely creepy when she had dead eyes. I know that's the point, but it was still incredibly off. Her normal design was by far the lowest quality in the VN sans the headmaster (Rise's grandmother), but with the dead eyes it got even worse and compounded the effect. I don't know what it was, but I feel like they screwed it up somehow. Next is Chiho. I think it might be her proportions, but everything about her design seems really unhuman. It might be that her bust line is shifted 5 degrees further than it should be, or that it's emphasized unevenly, or even that her sprite is too tall. I really don't understand what it is, but Chiho's sprite just makes me not ant to look at her. All the other girls look relatively fine, but her's stands out way too much for my liking. Oh right, I still can't get over how much Konomi looks like a child with a woman's head. It's incredibly disturbing. Everytime I see her, I think "what is wrong with you, freak". edit: I think I've figured out why I have so many issues with certain characters. All of them are in different perspectives, and an easy way to check this is that the expectedly shorter characters like Konomi and Ritsuko have their waists higher in line than the taller characters, and yet are still displayed as almost the same height, making them have to be geometrically closer to the camera than you would normally expect. Especially when you see the cg where Marika first introduces herself. compared to that, her sprite looks real thin. Quote

Satsuki Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 This bothers me sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. Its almost like at the last minute they were like "we have to make her chest bigger!" and used the photoshop stretch function on all of her sprites to give her a 10% larger left boob. Quote
Eclipsed Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 ^ The nitpicking is real But they are hilarious to read, Abyssal, so keep it up~ Quote
mitchhamilton Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 has anybody else noticed that Chiho's left ponytail is 1.5 cm's longer than the other one? this vn is now unreadable. Quote
Satsuki Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Wait, when did we start a nitpicking competition again? Quote
mitchhamilton Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 On this day, April 15th 2015, I hereby commence the first in an annual event to nitpick the visual novel "Princess Evangile. Let the nitpicking begin! Quote

Abyssal Monkey Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 More nitpicking time, and this time I'm taking it out on PE, even though its super prevalent in all VNs: That even when the protagonist is in the CG of an H-Scene, the heroine still looks dead at the camera. I swear to god, this one is probably one of my greatest peeves ever. In Ritsuko's second H-scene, she clearly asked to touch it and examine his penis, yet what does the HCG show? Her with a craned neck looking dead center at the camera, not the cock. Even if you wanted to argue that she was looking at his face, she is still looking far, far too high. Since when does looking at something 30 cm MAX above you require tilting your head to a 5/12π angle? NEVER. Her head isnt even turned to the side like you would expect, its craned backwards and her eyes are shifted slightly. Quote
