Satsuki Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 What routes are you guys looking forward to in the fandisk? Tamie and Ruriko are pretty much the only ones I care about. I'm hoping that at least some of the routes will have something resembling a story, but I'm not holding my breath. It is a fandisk, after all. Tamie and Konomi. And moar Ritsuko of course! Quote
XReaper Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 didnt mean with 30-45% the afterstorys, only the new "routes". though they didnt feel that long to me, they´re plot still had some substance to it, like konomis. Suzu Fanatic 1 Quote
TexasDice Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Remember that feeling, when you were reading Princess Evangile for the first time and kept thinking to yourself "Man, I can't wait to read the Mitsuki route!" ? Quote
Suzu Fanatic Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 If they don't put a "You're pregnant" joke in there I'm going to be really disappointed. By the way, has anyone heard if it's going to be sold separately, or only packaged with the main VN? If it's packaged, the salt will be real. XReaper and LiquidShu 2 Quote
TexasDice Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 No argument here, Sister Mishima is hilarious. I genuinely laughed whenever she had a line. Quote

Fred the Barber Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Now, that Teacher/Nun (name forgotten) that's something I can get behind +1 for getting behind Sister Mishima. Or in front. Either way's good. I think the way things shook out for me, Konomi, Ruriko, and even Mitsuki are all higher on my list of characters from this VN who I want to have routes, vs. all the characters that actually had routes, aside from Chiho. I only ever finished the Ayaka route, but I'll probably get the fandisk anyway and play the Konomi and Ruriko routes (and continue to not play any others, either in the main game or the fandisk). Justin579 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Ok I just started playing it and I am not blown away so far. Off the bat I have to say his father wins dad of the year award. The lotto? Really? Only in games would that happen. and why is there only 2 "goons"? Is that how the Mafia works? Only 2 people? Now to the heroines. They seem to pick the wrong chicks apparently. I'd much rather pick that super popular blonde fuer chick all the girls worship instead of the black haired one. Or Ruriko. Only one I am really looking forward to play is the blue haired chick that hates you. and maybe the childhood friend. Quote

Satsuki Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm lazy as hell, so there you go. Btw, I don't know about Japan, but in my country, these kinds of thugs who lend money with high interest to people like this, most of the time are just a group of less than 5 guys, not really "mafia" or anything. Satsuki Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Then you can't prove anything with your statement either. It's 1 in 176 millions, not 0. And that means it's not a "only in game" thing, it's still possible. Oh btw, in case you didn't realize, this IS a game. Quote

I thought it was okay, but that's pretty much it. A sometimes charming but largely boring read. The lottery development is certainly convenient. Don't worry, I understand what you're trying to say. This is a recurring problem with the game, it always has the most convenient plot developments. The goons are basically local thugs, not yakuza/mafia. Darklord Rooke 1 Quote
Nimbus Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 PE does require a lot of suspension of disbelief, particularly towards the end of some of the routes. Winning the lottery in my opinion was actually a good move on the part of the writers. If Masaya didn't do something like than this plot thread would be hanging over the story like a bad smell, completely overshadowing every bit of drama together. Although it did end a little anti-climacticly it did do it's job and could've been a lot worse. Quote

I usually like to only read longer VN's and I saw this one and I wasn't expecting anything near Majikoi teir goodness. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 ayaka isn't the one that hates you>? I looked at the walkthrough and saw a chick with blue hair Ayaka doesn't appear for a little while, so you probably haven't seen her yet. The one that hates you is Mitsuki. They do look pretty similar at first glance. PE is definitely overrated here. I thought it was okay, but that's pretty much it. A sometimes charming but largely boring read. That's pretty much how I feel about PE as well. I blame it largely on the lack of any long-running themes, which reduced the impact of the drama to the point where I wasn't emotionally invested. Also, the soundtrack was crap. I'd compare/contrast it with KonoSora, which I don't see people talk about too much (although admittedly I wasn't even reading VNs yet when the translation came out, so maybe I just missed the boat on that one). Both are very light in tone, typical setting, etc., but KonoSora had a unique theme that lasted through the whole story and provided a nice framework for the rest of the story to build on. "Only guy at a girls' school" is a lot weaker for a theme like that than "flying gliders". As a result, each arc fit better and had a lot more emotional impact, even overcoming the godawful translation. Of course, KonoSora also looks better (IMO, though that's pretty subjective, so I won't be surprised if people disagree on that one) and has a far, far, far better soundtrack (which is straight-up, unarguably true). Eclipsed Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 PE's story was more interesting than KSora for me. But yeah KS whoops PE when it comes to art & music. Especially the music. Quote

Decay Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I really hate it when people try to dismiss any complaints about a moege with "it's just a moege". No shit. But also, it does many things worse than a lot of other moege, such as Konosora as mentioned. Moege shouldn't get a free pass on poorly written and overly convenient plot developments unless they take the right tone with it (Noble Works does this well during its opening). The lottery thing was also one of the least problematic parts of its story. Quote

Justin579 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Dude...it's just a moege. It wasn't meant to win massive amounts of awards and show people something they've never seen before. When you read moege, you have to go into it expecting a certain type of writing and plot points otherwise you'll hate every moment of it. If you hate it anyway, just don't read moege. It's pretty simple. Not everyone likes moege. And yes, there is an option to turn the soundtrack off. Click the icon with a musical note on it, then slide the slider for OST/soundtrack/whatever it's called down to zero. Boom, soundtrack gone. That bugged me as well. Using the term yakuza/mafia when in reality "gangsters" would probably be a better fit seems a little strange. Yakuza and mafia imply some sort of larger organization, which fits the situation about as well as a size 8 men's shoe fits me. Quote
Satsuki Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Aaaaanyway...I'm kind of surprised MangaGamer took this on after Doddler said that they didn't have the manpower to translate it at the moment. Hope that doesn't adversely affect the translation quality. Customer demand is too OP Quote
