uberpr0 Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Hey there fuwafans, how y'all doing. Im gonna keep this brief since i could write a wall of text to fill a wikipedia page about myself, and even then i will still take up a few paragraphs on my intro. Been a long time lurker of the forum, and have decided to finally register and give you all my regards. About myself: I have been playing visual novels since before windows xp was invented and have been an anime fan since very young, (even before the dragonball craze back in 99? in the west). My first anime i actually watched was akira, and due to my young age, i took several years to finally understand what a masterpiece i had stumbled upon and that was my first point of contact to this passion. Since internet connections in europe have become cheaper and faster (2008+ , a.k.a, less then 1 week to download a 12 episode anime) i have pretty much watched every genre and all kinds of productions from several companies in order to increase of knowledge in this area. The last 5 years tough i have dropped my anime attendance in virtue of LN/VN and mangas. Mostly due to the fact that 90% of adaptations from LN/VN's are quite lackluster and fail to grasp the experience a VN or even a light novel can bring. ( i would make an analogy between a book and most cinema adaptations.) Regarding visual novels, of course i consider these the "master race" and have played anything from the most basic nukiages to even the semi jrpgs visual novels. Unfortunatelly i am not an owner of a portable gaming device and i am well aware of the number of great titles i am missing due to this fact. (I will atone for these sins once my vacations start and using my trust backlog checklist to bring upon justice to all the unplayed vn's). Honorable mention to true love back in 99 as my first vn (omehgod u played vn's before you were 18?? reported to the fbi). The thing i most seek in a visual novel is a deep and hooking story with it's share of character development, romance and battles. Very rarely i choose a vn for it's eros. (Though of course between the 15+ and the R 18+ version i will always go for the former one, since well, it makes sense with some developments and adds a bit more of realism to the story without having to filter out the eros.) Other then that, i am a huge fan of gaming in general, and have played my great share of rpgs, fps , mobas and fighting games. Little bit of advertisement to the fighting game community that i rank highly next to my belove vn community. I also do enjoy cinema and other forms of art such as theater, paintings, literature etc. Long story short: Why did i register now? Well the answer to that is simple. When a community translates a vn i have put in my attention list and after playing it for a bit of time, if the case this said vn manages to work it's way into my top 10 list, i will usually come to give my regards and congratulations to the TL team for their charity work (most often) and thank them deeply for their work. My last registration was 5 years ago in yandere. 3 days ago since the release of maji de watashi ni koushinasai patch, (one that i had on my backlog) i have once again picked it up and have confirmed the fact that this visual novel has really grown into me and worked it's way up in my heart to reach what id say top 3 of my personal list of visual novels. I did not expect such since i already knew minatosoft from "they are my noble masters", but man i really had a suprise with this one title. So in the event that any of the TL team's happens to read this intro of mine, please have my sincere thanks an congratulations and please pm me since i have a tradition i would like to keep with most TL teams of titles i have taken a deep liking to. I hope i have not come across as a narcisist or egocentric fellow, and i thank you all for reading this introduction of mine and in last: どうぞ よろしく おねがいします! Oh and one of my deepest regrets is being a noob in moonrune reading which turns out to be my greatest obstacle to this hobby i have and my greatest weakness in my passion. P.S : Se por acaso leres isto Tiago, ja te tenho visto ao longo dos anos em diversas comunidades, mas nunca te abordei. Caso vejas isto, ofereço-te aqui os meus cumprimentos e um abraço de um desconhecido. Quote

Flutterz Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Welcome to the forums! Hope you enjoy your stay! Do you have a favourite VN? Have a moe: uberpr0 1 Quote
uberpr0 Posted March 23, 2015 Author Posted March 23, 2015 I thank thee deeply for the moe It's complicated. I mean can you truly state that you have one VN you place above all the rest? Hm maybe i would say storywise FSN is probably my favorite closely above muv luv. Gameplay wise i had tons of fun with the rance series. If i factor in the nostalgic factor then maybe tsukihime for being my introduction to the nasuverse. But overall Maji DWNK might climb up to be my favorite in overall package that a visual novel can give. everything from story, to system config and user interface, artwork, character themes well thought out and well executed. and extensive ost to boot aswell. But the premium cast of voice actors conjured might just be the killer for me. Overall just a superb piece of art by msoft. I also like key and august games, but since i haven't finished most of them i can't really rank em in my list Quote
