B0X0R Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 The snow has (mostly) melted. The flowers are (trying to) bloom. Convention season is coming. What conventions are you guys planing to go to? I'm going to be heading to Anime Central with the anime club. Quote
suikashoujo Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Oh, you too? I'm either going to Acen with my anime club or my friend, haven't decided yet. I love Acen, it's been 3 years since I actually had the money to go. Quote
B0X0R Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 Awesome! This is going to be my second time going to Acen. Quote
solidbatman Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I have never once gone to a convention. They scare me Stray Cat and Flutterz 2 Quote
GetterEmperor Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I planned to go the Anime Expo, but I have classes now so I can't go unfortunately. Quote
Cyrillej1 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I already went to one near me, and it was my 4th time. I mostly like browsing the vendor area and seeing all the anime/game stuff there. Quote
B0X0R Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 I have never once gone to a convention. They scare me I would suggest going to small conventions first. I mean really small conventions that are only one day and are in a smaller venue such as a library. Conventions are a great way to remind yourself that you aren't the only one who loves what you love. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I'm going to Sakura-Con this weekend. I went last year as well, but I was a little nervous about it. I ended up hitting up a couple panels (actually maybe only one?), and spent most of my time wandering the floor, looking at cool fan art, cosplay, etc. This year, I'm a bit more comfortable with the whole thing, and I'm actually putting together a little "schedule" of four or five panels that I want to see. The Sekai Project industry panel and the subsequent Visual Novel panel are at the top of my list Conventions are a great way to remind yourself that you aren't the only one who loves what you love. Exactly. With a hobby that's a little bit out there like anime/manga/VNs/generic otakudom, it's an incredible experience to realize that literally everybody around you wants to talk about it, immerse themselves in it, revel in it just as much as you do. Flutterz Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I would suggest going to small conventions first. Conventions are a great way to remind yourself that you aren't the only one who loves what you love. I have this website to remind me that I'm not the only one who loves what I love. Plus Fuwanovel manages to avoid the main drawback of conventions - having to face 3D people. Quote
solidbatman Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I'd rather not deal wih 98% of the people here face to face. And many people at conventions look and seem annoying. Not to mention the terrible cosplay. Quote
Mr. Meogii Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I wish they hosted Convention in my country :'( Quote
sanahtlig Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I'm planning on being at Anime Expo this year. I'm looking forward to my first live industry VN panel. Quote
The_Count Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Sadly I live pretty far away from any big conventions, but I am going to Animaritime in the summer. Not a huge one, but it's a fun weekend either way. Quote

Kurisu-Chan Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I'm going for a convention called no convention. Quote

suikashoujo Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I thought I could go to Acen, but it turns out that I don't have the money. Again. I was looking forward to it, too... Quote

Kawasumi Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Meanwhile in Sweden. Närcon Summer is this weekend. Otawho? one of my friends is making bus tours from denmark to Närcon, havent been in the convention scene since I was a teen though, still it could be fun as hell to actually meet people on this forum in real life. Might not be this time but maybe next year? I hope Quote
Justin579 Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 I haven't been able to go the past few years but next year 100% am going to AX2016. I bought the premium pass for $350 already Quote
