Do You Remember Your Introductions?

What's up, hardened old members of the Fuwa community? I'm sure it's a bit of a blast from the past to have an old troller like me back around! Or is it just a bother after all?

 

Anyways, I was feeling a bit nostalgic returning to the forums after being away for so long. I feel like I'm an old lawyer with hemorrhoids now (Ah, the days of my youth, like the scent of fresh lemon)!

 

And because I was feeling a bit nostalgic, I decided to drag in other people too. So, here's a question for any and all who wish to answer!

 

Do you remember when you first joined?

 

I still remember it. I joined and loitered around making restrained, respectful comments to see how far I could push my luck.

Then, when people were only just starting to take notice of me, I went and said hello in as many languages as my mind could muster, heh. People really took a bit of notice to it too, seeing how few responded to the next few introductions.

After that, I really creeped out a few people by commenting on everything I possibly could, heh. A bunch of people took me for a troll and I got told off about it twice. Now that I think back on it, that really was my fault, huh? I even got two of my warning points for excessive trolling.

I remember Steve was the dude who 'handled' me. While I still can't say I like him, I guess I really should apologize to him sometime, huh?

 

Though, I really can't agree with the last warning. I can't remember where it ended, but it definitely started when I wasn't allowed to use a GIF avatar despite other people using them. When I replaced that avatar with a colorful non-GIF image, people apparently complained that it was 'too distracting' and Steve came to 'handle' it again.

 

Hell, I shouldn't be worrying about it anymore, I have the GIF avatar back now and I'm happy with it that way.

 

Anyways, thanks for spending your time to read such an insignificant story, it really does mean quite a lot to me.

So, what were your beginnings like? Were they humble, or were they explosive? Did you go for cliches, or did you try something original? Give me some confessions, or give me some virtues; it's good either way!

I took notice of Fuwa back when the site was under construction. I joined because I was curious to see how far Aaeru would get in her campaign. Aaeru had an energy about her which I found curious, I sensed a revolution and I sensed excitement. It was a lot of fun seeing all the arguments she would get in with people, like Sanah for instance XD. She definitely stirred the pot, so to speak.

 

I stayed because I feel at home with Tay's vision.

Man, your description makes me feel like I should have joined when I first found out about the forums. Maybe I'd have caught some of the main action that way, ya know? I feel like I'd really have liked Aaeru...

 

Haha, I've yet got a long way to go to feel really at home here. This is more of a place where I gush about my interests and not really about myself (apart from UCW, where I do indeed try to have normal conversations).

 

I can understand that, but as I said, I feel less calm here than I do at home so I just gush and gush and gush about things until I do feel calm and then log off. Haha, I take an almost violent stand on things that I do sometimes here. Guess that's why I've got them warnings.

Hi I started off lurker then very quiet new member and eventually spammer that borderline trolls but not in a toxic way so no warning points for me though I sure I at least annoy some ppl but idc it online come at me bruh.

And now I board mod and need have good manners else ruin staff reputation.

Haha, I remember you. Your post was just under the one person who kept saying "Here's a moe" on all the intro posts.

I remember because it really annoyed me to be given "moe"s...

 

And yeah, I pushed way too hard back then. Now that I look back, I must have been quite frustrated with my life or something, huh? I can't even remember why I did it. Maybe I was ecstatic to be able to talk about my interests online? Most of my IRL friends aren't the least bit interested, after all...

Haha, I guess you could say I was a lurker for a while, though it was only on the walkthrough and tech FAQs for me and I'd not actually registered. I remember Aaeru was still posting at the time. That aside, I really did push my luck a lot, huh? It couldn't keep up...

Slightly off-topic, my friends call me the "Luck Tank" in games, because I just always get so damn lucky in competitive play, 90% of the time I win due to sheer luck. I also hold a personal record of never missing a 3-pointer shot in any basketball game. Ever.

 

I'm actually glad I'm not part of the staff, if it means I gotta behave myself... I wouldn't be able to stand it.

 

I can get the thing about the phone, but my motto is the turtle's; Slow and steady. I take the time to correct any and all mistakes, no matter how little, before posting.

 

Also, I thoroughly read through the post version of your FuwaHistory, but as expected of Sanada, I forgot it immediately. Hahahaha!

Anyways, I can't be bothered to read it again, so this much is enough.

Alright I'll get serious just for you.

My introduction here on Fuwanovel was a rather unusual experience for me considering it was one of the first online communities I have joined. I remember taking everything a bit too serious, which caused me a bit of trouble considering just how many comical characters we have hanging around. The brief post I made is actually more revalent than you think. Posting on G&C allowed me to open up to the people here and allowed me to feel much more comfortable. Eventually I became attached to the site and desired a position where I could give back to the community, but I'll leave that story for another time

On my intro post, the forum is still dead that time. It only has 8 replies IIRC.
