Favorite characters from anime?

So, I saw a most hated character thread and thought, hey, why isn't there a favorite character thread?  Just post their name, a cool image of them if you want, and your reason for liking them. The reason dosen't have to be long, it can be as short as " just cuz", and you can give as many favorites as you like.

I think he's my favorite because of his interactions with the other characters, like when they make jokes, or do something that pisses him off. It's always funny seeing his reactions. Or it could just be that he's an ice element user.

I really gotta say though, I LOVE sociopaths. But of course to me there's more than that..

Starting with the obvious, they have to be attractive.

They have to have a fascinating mind. Chessmasters such as Orihara Izaya are a good example.

Another example of a fascinating mind is Johan Liebert, in the sense that you want to dive in to it.

At times, it's their view on life and set of values. Revy's is particularly interesting.

Ryougi Shiki too.

Another thing I love about them is when you can feel the weight of what they do because of the why.

But at times, they just need to be really badass, and damn sexy. Being covered in blood, is also a huge plus for me. 

I just love Claire Stanfield so much.

These are characters in that special place in my heart.

 

There are exceptions, of course. I didn't like Light that much to the extent of all these people.

Favorite character? I oddly haven't thought about it before, but one character immediately leaps to mind:

 

- Usually very strong, but rarely very emotionally fragile

- a tsundere that actually ends up paired with the main character

- a tiny bit twisted

- moe moe

Daidoji Tomoyo. Easily my favorite character in any magical girl show. Her voice is amazing, she is adorable as all get out, she has great design sense (well that's mostly thanks to CLAMP drawing all those costumes) and gosh darnit she's the best friend ever. You know it's true love when she puts her own feelings on hold because she only wants happiness for the target of her affections.

 

Animal

Though Hello Kitty tends to be the face of Sanrio, I personally consider My Melody to be their greatest creation (followed closely by the Jewel Pets). I'm not really into the fashion side of it all, but the anime of My Melody is amazingly fun. My Melody herself is completely oblivious to... well just about everything, and that's what makes her so endearing. She's like a Carebear if Carebears was self-aware. The show is constantly poking fun at how single-mindedly dedicated My Melody is to just having a nice relaxing friendly time with anyone and everyone. Why you gotta get those black notes, Kuromi? Can't we all just get along?
