Eclipsed Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 So with the death of batman, who would like to take over the reigns of the Fuwanovel Video Game Club? Quote
Kurisu-Chan Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 Oh, this is the actual thread? Guys, since Solidbatman isn't anymore member of fuwanoel, well, i talked with some moderators out there and...i hoped i could ask batman face to face, but i can't anymore. I want to maintain this Video games club alive, and by so, become the chairman, the leader of the Video game club, but i don't want to do that if no one agree with that. All i'm asking you people, is that if you want me to become the new leader of the VG club, at least until Solidbatman comes back, and when he comes back, and if he want, i'll give him back the club he created, so, like Alexis Tsipras did, i'm asking you, do you vote NAI or OXI for me as the leader of the VG club? Onegai, thanks all. Original message, hope you'll like it. Quote
Kosakyun Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 As long as it's not in the N64, I'm gonna give it a try. I don't think I can go N64 yet. Quote
Eclipsed Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I vote kuu-chan as (temporary, in the case that batman returns) as 'chairman, the leader of the video game club' all in favor? Quote
Kosakyun Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 No objections here, so as long as Kuu doesn't forget to do his part in the VN Club too. Let's play some dating sim in the retro days. Quote
Eclipsed Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Kurisu has been infused with the power of ownership of this thread Also linked all the threads of the previous discussions in the OP. Can easily revert the change if batman comes back~ retro dating sim sounds fun Quote
Getsuya Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Sounds good to me as well. And I second the 'No N64 please' rule for the retro game. It was really frustrating trying to get it working, and I have a pretty nice PC. Can't imagine how it was for others. Let's stick to stuff from the 16-bit era and before. SNES, NES, the early Segas, Gameboy, GBC, GBA, that stuff. That way we can just be absolutely sure everyone can play it fairly easily. Also my votes for genres this time are Action RPG for retro club and Strategy (RTS or Turn-based) for modern. Quote
Kurisu-Chan Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 Thanks for these powers, i can feel them flowing through my body. So, from now on, let's present to you one of the changes i'm going to add to this VG group : from now on, we'll have 3 categories of games : Retro game, Modern games and....Web games(not Minecraft, only includes Flash, HTML and all these tiny games you find in Congregate, Armorgames and such) Of course, this category is not important, and it'll not often be here, but well, from time to time, adding a web game to the game week would be great. Also, i'm working in an idea inspired by the Anime club about how we could get to play bigger games like RPGs. Quote
Blackbird Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 For retro game I voted for Terranigma to SNES and for modern game Tobari and Night of the curious moon (Steam game) for only 9,99€. Both of them I haven't finished yet. Quote
Kurisu-Chan Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 Don't worry, i have prepared for you a bunch of good games and genres, just wait some more time. Quote
Kurisu-Chan Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 I can give you the themes of every category. Retro game : action-platformer. Modern game : military. Web Game : ridiculously difficult game. Stay tuned to know what game did i choosed. Quote
Kurisu-Chan Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 like always, the thread. For this time, you'll have to play games i hand-picked. Quote
SanadaShadow Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 So, for the retro club, may I suggest Klonoa? Come on, you guys have got to play this gem. Quote
Kurisu-Chan Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 It's sad but i'll try to revive it. Tomorrow, expect a RTS and and a third person shooter. Quote
Funyarinpa Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 I say Spec Ops The Line btw: Got OOT3D, overrated as all fuck so far Quote
Kurisu-Chan Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 Spec ops was the last game we saw in the game club, it's sad no one even talked about the games i proposed. Quote
Kurisu-Chan Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 I hereby announce that i'm not anymore responsible for the Videogames club, if someone wants to take this role, he's free to do it. As for me, it's the end of my adventure as a leader of the VG club. Quote
Getsuya Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Um. Anyone interested in joining up if this started up again? While I was here this was one of my favorite things from Fuwa and I really enjoyed it. I'd be more than happy to take over running it. I now have Steam and all the emulators so I can play anything we decide on. If people are interested I'm thinking instead of Genre we pick a Retro and Recent game based on themes like 'Good Story' 'Good Soundtrack' 'Good Characters' etc. Each time we'd pick one theme (IE: Good Story) and people would propose Retro and Recent games that come to mind when they think of that theme. Then in the discussion we'd talk about that specific point, rather than the game as a whole. Why was the story good? What parts of it did we enjoy the most? Etc. etc. I think this will be interesting for looking into what it is we like about games in general without needing to limit ourselves to a certain type of game. What do folks think? Quote
Fred the Barber Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I'll give it a try if a critical mass signs up. I've been mostly stuck in a rut on traditional video games for quite a while, and I've got a fair bit of time on my hands at the moment, so playing what other people suggest would probably be good for me. As far as selection categories, I think broad selection themes (e.g., good music, good plot, ...) are better than genres (e.g., fighting games, FPS, ...), since you're more likely to hit on what more people find interesting. Not so sure about limiting the discussion to that theme, but I don't mind either way, I suppose. Quote
Turnip Sensei Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I missed the other thread, but it's nice to have you back, @Getsuya! I'm totally in for the game club reboot as the previous one was really fun while it lasted. And I also agree that looser "themes" are better than limiting selection to genres. It's way easier to be prejudiced against a genre, and plus when you choose by more abstract concepts you usually find more interesting and unconventional games. Quote
Funyarinpa Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I might actually be in as long as the games are not too long. Quote
