RainerZA Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Hi guys i'm new on the forums but have played a few vns. I've liked grisaia, f/sn, imhhw, steins;gate, rewrite, little busters and so forth. I am busy learning how to read Japanese and have started reading some manga with furigana. I would like to supplement my studies with a VN for my vita that has furigana to easily search up words I don't know. Anyone know if there is a VN like that? Thanks in advance. Quote
Zalor Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I can't help you much with the vita, but you can use programs that extract the text to a clipboard program and then that attaches furigana to the text. Specifically the programs you will need are Interactive Text Hooker, Translation Aggregator, Jparser and Mecab. Here is a guide on how to install the said programs onto your computer (again, can't help with the vita): /index.php?/topic/8239-how-to-install-and-run-untranslated-visual-novel-text-hooking-tools/">How to Install and Run Untranslated Visual Novel Text Hooking Tools. I know this isn't exactly what you asked for, but I hope it helps. Quote
RainerZA Posted April 7, 2015 Author Posted April 7, 2015 Yea, I read that topic Zalor, asking for something specific for vita. Quote
Getsuya Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Sorry but you`re not going to find one. Furigana is only for stuff they`re expecting small kids to read. Stuff like Light Novels may have a bit of furigana for kanji that aren`t commonly used, but VNs are aimed at high-schoolers and above so by that point everyone should be reading all the kanji. The best you`re going to see is maybe one furigana every few hours to explain one of the more insanely rare kanji they put into the VNs. However, almost all of the Vita VNs are full-voice, so all the dialogue will be voiced which will be easier on you than silent VNs or ones where only certain characters talk. Sadly, the only full-furigana games that exist are things like Zelda and Pokemon on the DS/3DS. RainerZA 1 Quote
Deep Blue Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 there are some vns that have the option to turn furigana on and it was on vndb as a tag but was deleted because "nobody used it" apparently -.- RainerZA 1 Quote
RainerZA Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 Thank you very much. I'll check out a voiced one then. Really appreciate the help. Quote
Getsuya Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 The one I'm playing right now, Aiyoku no Eustia: Angel's Blessing, is fully voiced. Quote
Vokoca Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I've read a VN that actually has furigana everywhere. It's called TIME TRAVELERS - it's not really that good, though. It has nice production values however, and if you're fine with a popcorn movie plot, it should also be nice practice. Quote
