Some Muv Luv Help?

Over the last 2 days, I've spent at least 4 hours trying to figure out how I can play this VN. I've never played, downloaded, or bought any before, and I'm interested in this one because I saw so many rave reviews. Basically, I'm not familiar with how someone would normally begin to play a visual novel.

First things first, I have read that it can be tough to find the game, but does anyone know where I could buy it? If not, I would need some pointers on how to download it. I have seen PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the sequel, but I would rather play it on my computer.

For the download there are just a few things I know I need already, and just correct me if any of this is wrong. First, I need to change my system locale to Japanese. I already have done that, so that's a non-issue. Next, I keep reading that I need something like Daemon Lite software, and I have tried that, but I have no idea how to use it. Also, I would prefer some alternative, because the Daemon Lite software came with an annoying amount of adware. I also know I need winrar, and I had no problems downloading that or setting it up, but I am still not sure what to do or how to use it. Finally, I need some kind of download for the actual game.

Considering all the love I've seen for the game and its sequel, I would hate to have to give up on playing it. I realize I'm asking a lot since I basically know nothing right now, but any help is appreciated!

You are suppose to opt out of any offers they give you when installing Daemon Tool so you don't get any adware. Also, as far as I know Muv Luv only works with Daemon Tools anyway. As for winrar it's easy to figure out. Can't link you to any downloads for the game either sorry.

OriginalRen set up a VN Mailing Service so he can probably get it for you. He's a bit swamped with orders at the moment though so you might have to wait a while. I'm not sure of any other methods of getting the game right now though. Mandarake maybe?

Edit: Okay, I have the file downloaded, I have Daemon Lite Pro, and I have Winrar. Can someone tell me the next step?

I think you mount the CDs using the installer and Daemon.  From what I can tell Daemon's purpose is to digitally place the 'CD' onto the 'digital CD tray' so the installer can move forward without an actual disk.  That's my understanding of the inner workings but it's been a while since I installed Muv-Luv myself.

Don't know what matters and what doesn't, but these are all the files I have. I don't know if I should have or not, but I did extract some from winrar I think... Anyway, it would be great if someone could tell me what one to mount or extract or something.

1. Mount disc 1, install

2. When the pop up shows asking for disc 2,

• Unmount disc 1
• Mount disc 2

3. Continue installation.

Thanks a lot! I tried that earlier, but you got me to realize I had to re-enter disc 2 after removing disc 1, not just remove disc 1. Here's to smooth sailing ahead!
