Getsuya Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Seems simple enough to make an education VN. Step 1. Pick a subject you want it to be educational about. It could literally be any subject under the sun. Pick something you yourself are knowledgeable about. For example if you are into history and know a lot about the American Civil War, pick that as the subject. Step 2. Your main character knows nothing about the subject but he falls in love at first sight with a girl who is obsessed with the subject. Step 3. In an attempt to woo the girl the main character begins to study the subject and go out on dates with the girl where they either visit sites related to the subject or have conversations about the subject. Step 4. Instead of `what should I do now` choices, make all the choices quizzes related to the subject matter. If the guy gets them wrong the girl won`t like him, but if he gets them right all the time the girl will know he has truly accepted that subject into his soul and will love him. Step 5. The two get married and their wedding ceremony is related to the theme. Quote

Zodai Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Depends on how you define educational, as what you come up with may vary depending on the teacher's viewpoint. Theoretically anything can be 'educational' as the 'message' of the story can often be learned from, whatever it is. However, if the teacher is describing educational as 'within the texts and knowledge required to succeed in the modern school system' there isn't much you can do with that, as most of today's schooling is related to high grades than actual learning, at least in my opinion. An examination of human morals? Two protagonists, one who shuns the sins of society while blind to his own, and another who blames himself for the death of a sibling and wants to prevent the other from hurting people. Set them in conflict. Make one of them a chuuni, the other relatively normal. Something political. A sci-fi set in space, where a group of people debate whether or not to go to war against a small, less-developed society in the same solar system. Something about the responsibility that comes with being a leader and how a wrong choice can cost people their lives. Merge it in with whatever existing political system you choose and you've got something that can teach politics. Technically. Get a stronger definition of what education is set as, though. Find a topic that would work strongly in a conflict. If you go for economics as mentioned above, you can write a story of a man who brings an entire kingdom down in pursuit of monetary gain, manipulating the market in ways that are more or less illegal, much like a modern retelling of the South Sea Company, See if you can find a topic that works, and set a heavy conflict around it. Good luck. Quote

Getsuya Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 While I don't really agree with your instructor's opinion, I'd say it's never a good idea to do things your instructor tells you not to. It's not healthy for your grade. Quote
Novel21 Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Sure I like that idea and my idea about that are this We know it exit child abuse and somebody kidnap children and Children so Get bullied at school. So Why dont you make VN about that and that VN can explaine Why we dont like When that happend and we want it to stop someday Quote
Zodai Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 The question in that end lies with whether or not the ending needs to be changed from actual history. You could have a fictional protagonist struggling with killing people in the war, but not actually change the ending of the story. If that's within the boundaries set, at least. Quote
firecat Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 you need a story in real life, some of the best novels i read come from real life that people struggle each day. the main point of educational is to teach someone about something not make it forceful on learning. your teachers never force you to learn stuff (unless they told you its on the test) so think of yourself as a teacher. Fiddle Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Make a nukige with a theme revolving around contraception. Your lecturer would approve. I second this idea. It should seem exactly like your everday eroge at first, complete with stock situations and a likable heroine, and soon after the protagonist and heroine do the sex, it is revealed that she has become pregnant. The story then addresses the misconception (heh) disseminated by VNs that one can ejaculate inside without consequences, and the reader finds himself educated about various matters concerning safe sex. -_- Quote
